Hi folks, recently I began to notice while braking that the brake pedal makes a steady croaking noise as I apply increasing pressure to it. It is a lower-pitched, vaguely squeaky kind of sound, and almost sounds like a dry joint/bushing in the brake pedal mechanism. This is NOT the squealing brake discs in reverse issue, this is an interior sound 100% coming from the brake pedal area in the foot well.
Has anyone else noticed a similar noise? I am wondering if something in the brake pedal mechanism needs to be lubricated, or if it's just a quirk of the vehicle. My 4runner is just about to break 25k miles, so it's possibly a wear issue.
It's not very loud, if I have music playing I won't even notice it, but if I am driving around at low speed with no music playing, it's pretty hard to ignore and kind of annoying.
