I have mine in “2” , I do mostly highways and asphalt, eventually light off roads.

For rocks, and heavy off road, i should set in “1” - softer? Or 3 firmly???
Off road you would go softer to soak up the bumps better. Highway can go firmer

There’s a lot of confusion about the Pro’s Fox shocks. Describing the setting as merely firmer or softer is misleading. That implies the spring adjustment changes. In fact, only the dampening changes. I found on 1, the least dampening, the shock were jiggly and handling was twitchy. Number 2, more dampening, made those two criticisms disappear. And, as a former writer stated, 3 is for higher speed Baja running. That makes bottoming out at higher speeds is far less possible.

That all said, the springs do not also adjust, they’re fixed.

The head service advisor at my dealership suggested I set the rear shocks to 3 when towing my 4500 lb trailer, to prevent the shocks from bottoming due to the extra weight. That seems to be the only case where they’re not all on the same number.
