Hello guys,

Current 2025 Tacoma TRD Pro owner here, my gripes with the Tacoma are:

- Too stiff supension and it pogoos on some concrete
- No rear seat space
- Darty, it does not feel very planted, not sure if it is the very tall ride height

Basically want to know if they drive very diffferent one over the other and maybe if the 4Runner is a bit more upscale?

Thanks!

I've got a few hours seat time in a new Pro Taco - I can't say I agree with any of your opinions, other than the lack of rear legroom, as a result of those silly seats that come in the Taco (not available in the 4R).

Your truck has a wheelbase that is 20" longer than the 4R, so it does handle a bit different, but the ride is still firm (it's designed that way, the Pro was designed for wanna-be high speed desert running, makes me feel like I'm Robby Gordon). This is a quote from an article with a Chief Engineer from Toyota, of the shocks for the new Pros "The PRO shocks have multiple bypass zones and were tuned and developed in collaboration with FOX to create a Baja style configuration that would perform at high speeds." Perfect for crushing those Target speedbumps ⚡

One thing I miss about my Gen 5 Pro was how you could rotate the rear out of slow corners, once the weight shifted to that outside wheel she would just dig, the Gen 6 doesn't have nearly as much body roll, side to side or front to back, so it feels pretty planted to me.

Have you tried adjusting the settings on your shocks? Maybe someone was playing with them before you bought the truck. I'd get under there and have a look. Another idea would be to check your air pressure on your tires, I've seen some threads, specifically on the Land Cruiser board I use, where people were taking delivery of trucks and the ride was shit, come to find out the tires had 50psi. Yeah, no kidding it rode horribly!
