  1. Upgrading SR5 Differential?

Well if none exist (torsen or truetrac) then that settles that!
  2. Upgrading SR5 Differential?

  3. Upgrading SR5 Differential?

Has anyone upgraded the stock differential(s) on their 4runner? If I end up with an SR5 (likely), I'd be very interested in upgrading at least the rear diff, and possibly the front diff, with Truetrac LSDs. Has anyone done this upgrade? How much did it cost? How do you find someone who can...
  4. Are 4Runners not in full production? (Jun '26)

I'm looking at all of my local toyota dealerships. They'll have 3 or 4 4Runners, and 30 to 40 Tacomas in stock! Same at all of them. I thought one had a better stock of 4Runners, but once I clicked and started browsing, turns out they're listing cars that are currently being built, in other...
  5. Yikes why are 4Runners so much pricier than Tacomas?

Thats really not true though, about 4runners being bigger. Even compared to the short 5ft bed tacoma, the tacoma is 18" longer, an inch narrower than a 4 runner but an inch taller, and only about 200lbs lighter. Theres also the 6' bed option thats 31" longer than a 4runner. I get that shipping...
  6. Yikes why are 4Runners so much pricier than Tacomas?

I just built up a TRD Off Road 4Runner and a TRD Off Road Tacoma on the site just to compare. Mainly because I really want that manual transmission. I expected there to be some difference, but the difference is huge! The Tacoma was $45,500 and the 4Runner was $52,500! (both with the expensive...
  7. Is there a feature overview type of thing anywhere?

For some reason, toyota doesn't have a full 4runner brochure on their website. On the "build a 4runner" web page, it gives a few highlights of each trim level, but not the FULL list of what comes with what. How can I figure this out? There must be a list somewhere? Like a chart of every feature...
  8. Manual conversion on 6th gen 4Runner (using Tacoma parts)

I wish TOYOTA would take some Tacoma parts and make a manual 4Runner option! I'm the opposite of that other guy. I have been driving a very nice automatic mid size V8 SUV for the past 10 years. And I would LOVOVOVOVE to get back into a manual. Literally every single day I've been driving for the...
  9. Manaul Transmission for 6th gen 2025 4Runner -- still possible?

So I periodically bring this up in 4Runner communities around the internet. Doing my part to try to "drum up" interest. The response is funny. Sometimes, people are like "oh yes that would be awesome!" and other times people's response is along the lines of "No way that would be terrible...
  10. "...lacks a manual because nobody's asking for it"

Some day when I have time, I want to to drive an SR5 4runner, a manual tacoma, and a manual bronco and then see what I really want after that. I expect after driving all those, I'm just going to want a manual 4runner even more.
  11. "...lacks a manual because nobody's asking for it"

In response to anyone thinking "nobody even buys the manual tacoma", you can't even search inventory for manual tacomas. Transmission type is not an option in inventory searching. Of course if you make it hard enough to buy something, nobody is going to buy it.
  12. "...lacks a manual because nobody's asking for it"

Just to be clear, people are commenting as if I am suggesting toyota switch ALL 4runners to manual, and get rid of automatics. I'm just saying they should offer it as an option, for the people that DO want to drive one all day. Whether they're going off road or going to dunkin donuts or...
  13. "...lacks a manual because nobody's asking for it"

That works out perfect for me. Although because I have the kind of luck I have, if they did make it, they'd probably go the other route and only make it an option on the $60,000+ models. But a manual SR5 4x4, I'd have to DIY an aftermarket heated seat kit and i'd be golden for the next 10 years.
  14. "...lacks a manual because nobody's asking for it"

I was googling around, like I do periodically, looking to see if there were any manual 4 runner rumors floating around. The number one result was a reddit post linking to a car and driver article where a toyota exec claims that the reason they don't make a manual 4runner is because nobody is...
  15. Seats removal (1st, 2nd, 3rd row) from 2025 4runner 6th gen - photos

What is actually involved in removing the 3rd row? Are they bolted in or can they pop out? If they're really permanently installed in there, that makes me have second thoughts about getting them. I guess i'll have to check both out in person, with and without.
  16. Aftermarket Differential Upgrades?

All of the 'trucks' I've owned in my life have been GM. So I'm curious about Toyota differentials. Is there a standard size or a few specific sizes that all Toyota trucks (including truck based SUVs) use? Ultimately, if I end up with a new 4Runner, I'd likely be going with the base model, and...
  17. Manaul Transmission for 6th gen 2025 4Runner -- still possible?

I'm hoping it happens. Though I wouldn't bet on it happening. But I would 100% get one of it did. I mean, assuming it was an option in the SR5, and now some super expensive package where you can only get it if you get $15,000 worth of other unwanted accessories. I had manual daily drivers for...
  18. 3rd Row Seating - Retrofit Install After Purchase?

The biggest benefit I can see is that on my big family vacation, fitting 7 instead of 5 can mean 2 cars instead of 3 cars, wherever we are going for the day.
  19. 3rd Row Seating - Retrofit Install After Purchase?

On the build page, I see this is a $800ish option for the extra seats. Does anyone know if anything else is included? Like whatever the seats latch in to, is that present even if you don't order the 3rd row seat option? What I'm getting at here is that I wonder if I can buy one without the...
