Good luck finding one where the dealer doesn't add all the BS accessories to drive the price up...
  2. 6th Gen Owners: What's one thing you'd change about the Truck?

Eliminating CAFE regulations so we can have a v6 option. Move the 4wd selector knob somewhere your thigh won't contact it accidentally. Cut $10k off the top and reduce the amount of safety sally bs. More headroom for people gifted with height. Flat folding second row. Better exterior color...
  3. Cracked Premium Package Windshield Help!!!!

have to expect the windshield will need to be replaced aventually. Here in Houston, tinted windshields are everywhere. Sure they're highly illegal, but the cops don't seem to care, even when you can tell every window is 5%...
  4. Gotta say goodbye to my Gen 6

chasing mpg but moving from a 6th gen to a 5th gen seems... unrealistic. Unless, the 5th gen sits forever and gathers dust while the beater super uber mpg queen takes the brunt of the travel duties. Still, sounds like a bad deal. Keep the 6th gen, get a super cheap beater with relatively good...
  5. Gotta say goodbye to my Gen 6

you're dumping the 6th gen for a 5th gen + super/awesome/hybrid/unobtanium/ultra efficient commuter? Won't the total cost of the commuter + 5th gen wipe out any difference from the 6th gen? The 5th is gonna get way worse mgp than the 6th. The commuter will help, but enough to offset the...

  8. 5W-30 for hot climates? 0W-20 for cold climates?

And yet, they still didn't take the time to verify international manuals to see if Toyota spec'd alternative viscosities as acceptable...which they did.
  9. 5W-30 for hot climates? 0W-20 for cold climates?

Correct. This is the ONLY reason the US manual lists a single viscosity. They are restricted legally to list the viscosity used for testing, and nothing else. The people who rely solely on the manual as a "must never deviate from" rule, have probably never heard of tolerances... You're not wrong...
  10. 5W-30 for hot climates? 0W-20 for cold climates?

Except that’s not what international manuals say. They clearly indicate other viscosities can be used. While using 0w20 isn’t necessarily wrong, it isn’t necessarily right when factoring in the environment
