My ORP has the TRD black wheel upgrade option/package (PIO). You only get 4. The spare is the stock alloy (silver) wheel. at least its not steel wheel and at least its full sized. 🤷‍♂️
I'm sure there are errors but my wife's car's speedo matches perfectly with the Waze GPS speed. And there are a number of radar speed monitors in town and my 4R is always off by 1 to 2 mph. Also my CC set speed is often not the same as the speedometer speed (I've read thats a common Toyota thing...
My ORP with the TRD wheels has the speedo showing 1 to 2 mph faster than GPS. I dont understand why this isnt an easy system data entry depending on wheel size. Toyota engineers just lazy?
I ended up disabling mine as well. When I was installing the lock on my bike rack / hitch, I would invariably move my hand under the sensor area and the tailgate would open, usually hitting me in the head
Anyone have the issue where you are listening to SiriusXM and then silence. I have to hit the sources button and see that it has switched to my phone. I then have to hit radio to make it work again. Seems to happen once or twice a day.
Last May I was looking for an Ice cap TRD OR Found one about 100 miles away but dealer wanted $1K over msrp. So kept looking and expanded my search to include the ORP even though I didnt want to pay the price. Long story short I bought an ORP and really like the extra features, including the...
I have a 1-UP rack. I have found that if I install the rack, then fold up the trays (no bikes obviously) and drive it / back up the 4Runner asks if I have a trailer. I indicate yes and it turns off the appropriate sensors. then I lower the trays and load the bike and keep saying yes when it...
Regarding remote start from your phone, yes mine does the same thing - no Carplay until I restart. I did remote start with my FOB and Carplay was active when I got in.
Not sure about second issue, I'll have to check. I do note that occasionally while listening to Sirrius, the music stops and I...
So disappointing that car companies have gone the subscription route. Mine is coming up on one year. I like the remote start via my phone but that is not worth $15 a month. I can still remote start it from my fob (I think).
I've owned mine for almost a year now, just turned 15K miles. Absolutely no regrets on the purchase (other than the price).
Minor nits:
Lane Departure Assist - I've turned it off.
Lane Tracing Assist - its fine other than it doesnt sense when my hands are just resting on the wheel so it warns...
If I was older I might have gone for the LC. But I'm 66 and prefer the more youthful styling of the 4R 🤣
In all seriousness I'd go for the GX550.
20 hp would not be noticeable in the 4R, especially at the added cost of the fuel and the way I drive.
There is a thread on this topic somewhere on this site but in short, no. Its incredibly annoying. you should be able to accept it via the button on the wheel and get no more audible warnings but Toyota in their wisdom wants to remind you every minute or so. I find this odd especially when there...
