You for some reason want to make this a debate. It’s not a debate, that’s my point it’s just development engineering.
I have zero idea as to why Toyota has done what they did, they yes think it’s acceptable clearly. In a modern vehicle program it’s subpar that’s all.
As far as reviewers...
Let me summarize this for you. This ride quality, regardless of it's category of capability is not acceptable. You can get in a Ford Raptor (mid of full size), or a ZR2 (mid or full size) and the NVH is far superior - it's not an opinion it's fact and its engineering design. They did a bad job...
Please don’t take offense, it’s not that I’m expecting too much it’s simply an engineering observation and Toyota didn’t do a critical analysis at the tune of this aspect. This doesn’t mean that the overall function, and capability of the suspension is bad, by no means - isolation is a different...
I can understand your position and opinion on my criticality. It's just a very common specification each OEM works to tune to through development. Having a lot of experience in newer vehicles from several OEM's - this is unfortunately a failure from my perspective, and if this were a Ford or GM...
Hey There
I'm running it in the softest setting. That's how it arrived and I verified all 4 shocks. I will adjust them to number 2 and see what happens, I can't imagine it will help any, but since you're running number 3 I will give it a shot.
Well I bought it to work and play, so it's too late...
I'm in the automotive industry and I've worked for many years for Ford as an engineer. This thing has feedback even on smooth roads, of course it's really busy on crappy roads. It's not a suspension thing, it's what Toyota is not doing on isolation of the suspension movements that end up...
Thank you for your feedback! That leads me to believe It certainly is the design then. Where as GM and Ford do a far better job of isolating the cabin and steering wheel than Toyota. It comes down to body mount dampers and isolators. It would never pass those organizations NVH (noise vibration...
Looking for insight / validation / others experience...
My new TRD Pro has what I would consider poor ride quality. There is little isolation of the road to the cabin/chassis, and of course the steering wheel. My 24 Corvette Z06 has better isolation than this 4Runner. Every little bump...
