  1. Aftermarket Subwoofer, Ported Box, Amp Installation on TRD ORP gas non-hybrid

Great looking setup! I'm still waiting for the control module replacement to come out so I can ditch all of the JBL speakers and run proper amplifiers and avoid that beat Sonic line level amp, although that is a good option and it sounds decent I just wish the replacement module adapter would...
  2. Hybrid Real World MPG (iForce Max) - post your model, specs, general driving conditions, results:

Still hanging in at 14.9 combined on the Trailhunter.
  3. Hybrid Real World MPG (iForce Max) - post your model, specs, general driving conditions, results:

I would be curious to see the results on pen and paper the old fashioned way. Noticed quite early that when doing it with the actual miles like we did in the old days those displays in the 4Runner are not all that accurate. My 4Runner Trailhunter claims that I'm getting 21 when in fact I'm...
  4. Ski / snowboard rack accessory for the ARB 3/4 roof rack on trailhunter

You might try Rack Attack, they have stores Nationwide and online ordering. Went by their Austin Texas location recently and they said they could get some attachments from ARB for the trailhunter to mount just about anything. I was looking for mounting for maxtrax. https://rackattack.com/stores
  5. Hybrid Real World MPG (iForce Max) - post your model, specs, general driving conditions, results:

Yes I do. I've always been a pretty conservative driver for fuel economy. I've tried with cruise control and without and the different driving modes. I know on the highway the major problem is the 80 and 85 mph speed limits in my area, and I'm thinking on the next trip out of state driving...
  6. Hybrid Real World MPG (iForce Max) - post your model, specs, general driving conditions, results:

4runner Trail Hunter picked up in early June. 2,000 miles .Oil changed at 1,000 miles. Around town the very best I've been able to get is 15.5 MPG and 19.9 on the highway. With the heavier tires and wheels and underbody protection I guess that's the price I pay for the lower mileage than the...
  7. Dealer is going to block the snorkel on our Trailhunter before we take delivery.

Makes sense, the trailhunter has the underbody protection not so much the TRD Pro. I also think those old man emu shocks are great on the trailhunter. I've had mine for 4 months now, love it and I do not mind the snorkel sound which you barely hear anyway.
  8. Dealer is going to block the snorkel on our Trailhunter before we take delivery.

Then why are you getting the Trailhunter and not the TRD Pro. I bought my Trailhunter specifically because of the snorkel.
  9. Beat-Sonic Amp Upgrade Clarity Needed

It's not a real amplifier it's a line level booster. And you're right it really doesn't do anything to the sub.
  10. Beat-Sonic Amp Upgrade Clarity Needed

Beat Sonic is only a line level amplifier not an actual amplifier. All it really does is give you the perception that your stereo is louder because it gets louder sooner with your volume adjustment. I helped a friend install one and it does not sound any better you just don't have to turn the...
  11. 6th gen owners - why did you jump on a year 1 model of the refresh?

Humorous explanation on tariffs, which are actually attacks on the American people. No I'm sure the money coming in for the soon to be declared illegal tariffs are going for refurbishing 747s and other nonsense. That being said, as a financial person, I bought the new Trailhunter because the...
  12. 6th gen owners - why did you jump on a year 1 model of the refresh?

Remove the battery and you won't have that torque.
  13. 6th gen owners - why did you jump on a year 1 model of the refresh?

Primarily I went with the 6th gen 4Runnerunner Trailhunter because I just sold my motorhome and I had a Jeep Wrangler POS that I needed to use to flat tow since that's not practical with a Toyota product. Once I got rid of the motorhome that jeep was like a hot potato, couldn't get rid of it...
  14. Nissan Xterra and Pathfinder are coming back to take on 4Runner

They were fine back then but Nissans have never been built up to the quality of Toyota. Add to that, they're planning on closing seven assembly plants 2027, they are billions of dollars in debt and the bailout from Honda fell through last year. They are on borrowed time, knowing that I would...
  15. Nissan Xterra and Pathfinder are coming back to take on 4Runner

Nissan is barely in business, no thanks.
  16. Alpine speaker upgrade kit for 2025+ 4runner 6th gen (8 or 12 Speaker Plug & Play Bundle Install by Trail Grid Pro)

I had them in my old Jeep Wrangler, rock crawling concert Hall. But it was a Jeep, The stereo outlasted the vehicle.
  17. Alpine speaker upgrade kit for 2025+ 4runner 6th gen (8 or 12 Speaker Plug & Play Bundle Install by Trail Grid Pro)

Still waiting for the line level modular adapters to come out so I can pull out every speaker and add quality amplifiers and a sub. Focal speakers are what I'm aiming for, just as long as I get that JBL junk out of there and that pitiful subwoofer.
  18. First service and oil change at 10k miles recommended by Toyota?!

Using Toyota branded oil or Mobil 1, both made by the same company is the best for a Toyota. European engines are built differently and require different oil for a reason. Of course if you can't afford to change your oil at 5K I understand but in the long run, if you want to get more than half a...
