  1. Intermittent buzzing sound

Toyota hasn't used a compressor that cycles on and off for a while now. They're all variable displacement compressors.
  2. Is the Trailhunter oil filter the same as non-hybrid filters?

The engine is the same, hybrid or non hybrid, so yes they use the same filter.
  3. Drip hose under driver side?

Definitely looks like a A/C drain, in pictures the A/C lines go in the firewall on the driver's side. This seems to be the same on all the vehicles built on the TNGA-F platform.
  4. Pros / Cons between the part-time 4WD and full-time AWD

Only the Limited and Platinum have FT4WD all the others have part time 4WD, you have to switch from 2WD to 4WD. That system isn't designed for use all the time because it binds on turns and will cause damage when driven on pavement. Part time systems are mainly designed for off road use and...
  5. Pros / Cons between the part-time 4WD and full-time AWD

There is a difference AWD is all 4 wheel powered all the time and that's it. Full time 4WD means all 4 wheel powered all the time plus there is a 2 speed transfer case for 4 High and 4 Low. FT4WD is much more capable system over AWD.
  6. Need Aftermarket Storage Solutions for Cargo Area

That's not wasted space that was created for cup holders, that's the wheel well. You know how the rear wheels have lots of articulation when going off road, guess where the tire goes when it's up high in the body.
  7. Car seat fit issue and ride quality bad

This is an example of the difficult jobs engineers have. Build a vehicle that competes with the best off roaders in the segment but it has to ride and handle like a family crossover for the people who will never take it off road. Make it body on frame for towing capabilities and strength but...
  8. Q for owners: do you have lots of play at top/back of rear doors and vent windows (triangle pieces)?

Interesting point. If they all are doing it then it's intentional and it had to be designed that way. Why is a mystery unless Toyota decides to address it but it could be for the reason stated. Also modern vehicles are sealed very tight and you have to close doors with some force to get them...
  9. Sour Mildew smell from A/C

I live in the south and have never had a car with musty smelling A/C and don't know of anyone personally who's had that issue. And I haven't done this procedure since turning off the A/C in the summer will give you heat stroke in 2 minutes. I can tell you that turning off recirculate will...
  10. Whistling noise after front air dam removal: final verdict?

I thought the correct procedure was to reinstall the screws after removing the air dam
  11. Air Dam falling off at highway speeds, 89 miles on odometer

The edges are jagged, it looks like it was ripped off. You may have hit something on the highway and tore it off from the screws that hold it on.
  12. Install 3rd row seat to a Off Road Premium??

The ORP and the Limited are very close in price and you can get the 3rd row in a the Limited.
  13. Acoustic glass SR5??

I have a 2016 Camry which is my first Toyota and I also currently drive a Ford F-150 but I've also owned Honda, Acura, Nissan, and Mitsubishi. I got the Camry because my Acura was totaled in an accident and I needed another fuel efficient work car. I didn't go out looking for a Toyota, I needed...
  14. Acoustic glass SR5??

What other brands of vehicles have you owned?
  15. Deleted

Toyota has said many times that hybrids in trucks is for power not fuel efficiency. Meaning you get the same fuel efficiency as the non hybrid but more power.
  16. Trim selection: 2025 4Runner Limited vs. TRD Off Road Premium

Find a dealer not doing markups, my dealer sells at MSRP.
  17. Don’t let the dealer detail or even wash your new car

Washing it is supposed to be done as part of the pre delivery inspection. If the truck is dirty they and you can miss damage that may be concealed by the dirt. This is also how they're supposed to check to make sure the paint quality is good and there is no discoloration between body panels...
  18. Finally test drove - screen felt low

The larger 14" screen is more future proof. 5 years from now the smaller screen is going to look old and low tech.
  19. Trim selection: 2025 4Runner Limited vs. TRD Off Road Premium

By your own words you would really be more comfortable in the Limited. The suspension in the Limited is more suited to street driving and will have less body roll. It also sounds like when you do go "off roading" it will be on some trails but nothing major. The Limited is still a 4Runner at...
