    Haha, I guess I'm behind. I'm still driving my 2003 4Runner 4.7L V8 that has a trans dipstick :) So, how's the fluid supposed to be checked?

    Um... the pic of your door jam showed 895 lbs payload, but on toyota's web site specs it showed: GVWR = 6395 lbs curb weight = 4850 for a difference of 1545 lbs = payload or did I misunderstand the 2 numbers?

    I see. However, I saw that the total payload of the hybrid 4Runner is only 895 lbs. With all those heavy bumpers (easily 200-300 lbs each + tire) and racks and tools, not much will be left for passengers...
