I read that 24MPG is achievable on a highway run. I assume that it will normalize after break-in and an oil change. Of course, the right foot behavior has a huge impact too :)
Completely off topic - I'd love to see a V6 Hybrid Max engine in the 4Runner like the Sequoia. Unnecessary but cool. I...
A friend purchased a Corvette a few years ago (ZR1 I think, 650HP). He was able to track it in the build factory, on the train, truck, etc. It made for a great experience. Even on the train, he could see the location daily.
Toyota need to implement something better in terms of a customer portal...
What website are you getting that detailed info from using your VIN? I have my vin and understand from a dealer screenshot that its on the ship. I would love to get better tracking info.
Great question and one I would like to see an answer to. Referencing my 2005 F350, I have to turn a knob at each wheel to disengage. On my old 1995 Jeep Wrangler, I do not remember doing anything other than shifting to 2H.
I hope the 4R has a disconnect and its automatic/electrically operated.
What a great detailed thread of your experiences. This type of posting is so valuable to other's awaiting their 4R.
I too will need to be mindful of the “drive 10 miles a month in 4WD. That reminds me, I need to so that with my F350 4WD too. I used to do it every few months as it seemed like...
Why? Please try to add fact and details beyond a general comment.
You previously stated that paint protection like ceramic might damage your paint. I asked from clarification and detail in the post and by direct message and got no response.
My 4Runner is apparently on the boat with a delivery to dealer expected in late March. The sales guy at the dealer said they do not charge above MSRP. The cost detail sheet they sent me prior to me putting a deposit showed MSRP pricing with one junk extra, the paint protection which is mandatory...
We are discussing the 2.4L turbo here, as in the 6th gen. Not sure if the recommendations and findings for other engines are relevant or are they?
Might be different for the Tundra and older generation 4runners.
I keep my small engines, chainsaws, blowers, ect. Free of ethanol. I also do not use fuel that is stored for more than six weeks. I run all engines and carbs dry too. That process has resulted in trouble free tools.
Now, for vehicles, I am less concerned. Fuel injection, modern Tier 1 gas with...
Just curious why folk are using gas with octane ratings higher than 87? This is lne of the selling points on the new 4runner.
If you are using 89, 91 or 93, please share why and what differences you are seeing?
I hope to buy OEM accessories soon from the dealer, so I hope they are stocked. PIO did not include all weather mats for the inside, only cargo area. Also thinking about cross bar, cargo cover an net, etc.
Does anyone know if the SR5 will have the following from 4Runner-Dan's list on his TRD ORP:
Spare tire has a alloy wheel
Front steering knuckles and tie rod ends are Al-alloy, a nice touch -Will they be better than steel in strength and durability?
How hard was it to take off the SR5 badges on the side? If they need to be refitted for whatever reason, could they?
Great looking truck. My Heritage Blue SR5 is on the boat.
Maybe Toyota will pivot and manufacture 4runners in the USA?
I doubt any imminent impact to buyers. However, if my bottom line increased more than $2k, I’d not buy.
Nice option but $$$$ are more than I expected. Plus, putting my financial hat on, if I keep adding accessories, I would get close to the cost of a higher end trim. If this was a $200-300 upgrade, maybe but $1000.
I wonder what the cost of the replacement enclosure is from Toyota Parts?
