I would say it works better at deflecting light road grit and light bugs, but it really depends on where you live and if you tailgate. Other than that I bought my first one in 2017 and they look cool and are well made. IMO
They are very good quality and comparable to Weather-tech and Husky. I installed some in my lifted Subaru Legacy and just ordered some for our 25 4Runner. They are about three weeks out shipping on Amazon.

Try to run C or S class tires and check the weight of each tire in the specs. The E class can get very heavy 285 and up which will drag on performance and mileage. I run "275/70/18 C" Wildpeaks AT4s and they ride great.
