I only had the stock tires on for about 300 miles. They’re tall and skinny so it helps with the mileage, I maybe lost 1-2mpgs, but it’s not noticeable at all. I generally get 20mpg around town and about 5mpg higher on the highway (as long as I’m not going over 70). Power feels exactly the same.
Interesting. I just assumed it was my license plate rattling- so I put a silicone frame around it. I’ll have to check for any continued rattling- I sort of forgot about it.
Yeah, it’s been about 15 years but coming over Jackass Pass and catching views of The Cirque was insane. I got unlucky with horrible mosquitoes and hot weather while I was there. Had I not moved so far away I would be making regular trips up there.
I agree- I’d put the Winds up there, as well as the San Juans in SW CO. I’ve backpacked all of them and they’re pretty much on the same level for me. That said, for me, British Columbia is possibly even better.
Spent a couple days in the Wenatchee NF and found a few fun trails to try out with the new 4Runner. Definitely need a small lift (at least in the front), I scraped the skid plates a few times when I thought I had plenty of clearance. Went as high as 6000ft and the engine had plenty of grunt. I...
Did she run over something? It seems unlikely that a tire would grenade for no reason- I’ve been married and witnessed the lack of attention given to debris on the road, lol. That said, if it was a defect in manufacturing I doubt it would be a problem with the other tires.
I have the Cooper Road+Trail in 255/75 r17 on my SR5. I’m 4000 miles in and they’ve been great! I’ve done some beach driving and some mild trails and have had no issues with traction. They’re fairly quiet on the road as well with good wet traction.
So far, bigger AT tires, Trailhunter front and transmission skid plates, full size spare and as of this weekend a lot of pinstripes from overgrown trails. I bought the SR5 because I would rather spend the difference in price on the modifications I wanted, and not worry as much about dinging a...
I’ve had no issues getting up to speed on the highway or passing. Definitely an improvement over the 5th gen, in my experience. I’m also getting 20mpg around town and up to 25 on longer trips as long as the speed stays under about 70. Once you get up in that range it’s more like 22mpg. I don’t...
The only thing I don’t love compared to the 5th gen I had is the amount of hard plastic on the doors. I purposely wanted the smaller screen so that is a non issue. I was never a huge fan of Toyota’s synthetic leather, so the cloth is actually pretty nice ( and not as sweat inducing either!)...
Man, I’m glad I took mine off on day 2 of ownership so I don’t have to worry. Though I will say mine was totally and securely attached when I did. Maybe I shouldn’t have tossed it in the dumpster.
