I would have never thought that rubber plug would be nearly that expensive--but I also would not think they would be profitable to steal/sell--who would buy them? Mine sits...somewhere. I do not see much point in it, even if I were not using the receiver hitch (I have a Twistep in it now unless...
All very well-said points about data sharing. Yes, it is rampant. Is it a big deal? Well, that is a personal decision. My take is that, as another said here, we are not important enough for big companies to care about our specific data. Usually data is shared anonymously (although not...
I should have mentioned the Wolfbox as well; I have the previous iteration (not removeable battery). It has gotten excellent reviews and does work very well. The other one that @gvan1998 mentions is similar; not sure how it compares in performance (but is much less expensive...I got mine on sale...
There are anti-static sprays that may help. They are marketed for, among other things, welding helmets, face shields, and such. Or maybe one of the ceramic coatings. I used this oneTurtle Wax Hybid Solutions (perfect for my hybrid vehicle, right?) on my 4Runner (outside)...
I still consistently get between 23-24 MPG overall on my stock ORP Hybrid, not including when I am off-road or pulling a trailer. I always run in eco mode, have not seen a reason to do otherwise. Air dam on unless I am off-road.
I have an ORP and have found its ride very good. Mind you, I am probably not picky--I have never had vehicles that I should have expected an excellent ride. I have been in other people's cars and never really had the thought of "Wow, this is really smooth/comfortable." My own vehicles have been...
I would not think it would be affected that much either. One thing, though, is that the effect will be much greater the faster your speed--it is not linear.
@127.0.0.1 is correct, they are fairly rigid. That said, they are relatively short and very close to the tire, so at least that makes them less likely to get in the way.
Interesting, and looks nice--although very expensive for its capacity compared to rigid panels (perhaps lexible panels are that much more). Rigid panels are typically around $1/watt, although I just got a couple on sale for about $60 for a 100w panel.
One thing--that small battery in the cargo...
Personally I prefer the silver color anyway, and I would never pay much--let alone that much--just for aesthetics (even if I did prefer black). Of course that is all just my personal opinion, what is important is what you prefer!
I have an ORP heritage blue as well, but hybrid version (looks the same from the outside other than the "Max" in the name badge). I am surprised how many comments I get from others about liking that color so much! To me it was this or red--my wife concurred but had a slight preference toward...
I got the ORP hybrid, very happy with it. After reading comments about the snorkel, I'd avoid that model outright--don't need it (just replace the air intake filter a little more often if you really get that much dust). The sway bar disconnect might be nice, but for me not critical. I do not...
One comment I meant to make in my earlier post--it is better to use silicone grease on the fittings if you need a little lubrication. It is safer for the rubber material in the hoses. WD-40 (which is more of a cleaner than a lubricant, although it does work short-term as a lube which is what you...
Thanks for this! I am a little surprised you find the performance gains that noticeable. It is a fairly expensive upgrade, but sounds like it might be worthwhile. It would be interesting to hear if it seems to increase fuel efficiency at all--theoretically I would think it would.
I generally agree with fur-runner (great handle, BTW!), likely stock is fine. I have the ORP and do go offroad, although nowhere near 20% (at least for now). Even off-road, for the places I plan to go, stock should be fine. When I need new tires I will likely get better all-terrain tires, but...
