This sounds like a very interesting modification. Please keep us informed.
To my knowledge the snorkel is not sealed and thus is not for fording, only for clean air ingestion.
I understand now. I'm talking about the inverter that is in the hybrid models.
I'd love someone that has a hybrid and a O-Scope to give me a second opinion.
Hmm...when I called Toyota customer service a while ago and posed the question to them I was told that the inverter put out a square wave.
When you say "but the 400W base is not" I don't understand. Either the inverter is producing a sign wave from 1 watt to full load or it isn't.
Please keep in mind that the inverter that is installed is not a sign wave inverter, it uses a square wave. Because of this it may not play nice with some refrigerators or other devices.
Please have a look at this article...
Thanks for the complement. Yeah, I was glad to find out that the Trailhunter didn't come with a sunroof. I tend to keep our trucks for a long time so the PPF was worth it.
I really like the E rated KO3's. The ride is firm but not harsh (make sure to not over fill them. I keep mine at 33 PSI). I don't find the tires noisy and I like knowing that I have a beefier side wall for any off road abuse. Please keep in mind that I had KO2's on my Gen5, so maybe I'm used to...
One of the only things that we wished we'd seen more of is wild life. We only saw one moose, and that was for only about four seconds. But I guess that I half to be careful for what I wish for. I could have seen the moose right in front of the truck as I was going 90 Km/h.
Actually our turn around point was going to be in CO, but with the temperatures floating in the 90's it sucked the incentive right out of us. Maybe in the future.
We have both been to CO before and absolutely loved it. We were just hoping to see it again, and more of it.
It did indeed.
I put on the first thousand locally before ever going on the trip.
I also did my first oil change at that point.
When I came back I did another one.
I just want to add that the Canadians that we met along the way couldn't have been nicer, more polite and helpful. We very much appreciate there assistance.
My wife and I just completed a eight day trip to celebrate the arrival of our new Trailhunter.
Here is the route that we took:

Rangeley ME
Trois-Rivieres QC Canada
Ottawa ON Canada
Sudbury ON Canada
Sault Ste. Marie ON Canada

Recently got my Trailhunter and I absolutely love it! It's everything that I was hoping for.
I'm 6' 2" and was worried that the roof would be too low, but very thankfully I've got enough room.
Since the Trailhunter already is fairly well outfitted for off-road use, and I don't expect to be...
