That does look tight. But the decline angle was significant too. Could always go the route of mounting a tailgate spare tire carrier. Westcott already has one:

When should we expect 2026 4Runner model year to start? Is there a certain calendar month when Toyota usually switches all its models over to the next model year?
I don't think we'll really know until owners start pulling apart their dashes and look behind the blank buttons.
If the blanks aren't prewired, you could always install OEM switches and wiring harness. Here's a DIY @Cali Raised LED posted for the Tacoma, so same procedure for 2025 4Runner.

I'd trust knowledgeable forum users and official Toyota docs more than a dealer (unless you know he knows his stuff from experience in dealing with him). Show him the doc and ask him to refute it with other info he has which says that the power outlet comes standard on Limited trim.
