  1. First time camping in the 4Runner with Nokhu Rack cot / bed

Right now the front of the bed just rests on the backs of the folded seats, I put a piece of carpet tile under it even though it’s likely not needed. If I was to use the bed more, I’d maybe find a way to get the front legs to reach the floor in front of the back seats. Really not something I...
  2. First time camping in the 4Runner with Nokhu Rack cot / bed

I’m usually more of an ultralight backpacker, but I always wanted to give sleeping in the vehicle thing a try. Picked up a Nokhu rack on sale recently, and it worked out great. Only needed to move the front seat up an inch or two to give me (5’11’) plenty of room to lay down. Even found a spot...
  3. No Bass in JBL Rear Subwoofer & Rear Door Speakers

Same. My day job is an audio mastering engineer and I used to compete in IASCA back in the day and the default settings sound the most accurate to me. Maybe occasionally I’ll bump the bass up one notch for party mode. 😁 But also, the whole reason they give us these controls is so people can...
  4. Owners Manual says no snow chains on 265/70R18 tires. Anyone use cables that will work without damaging?

To be fair, there's not a TON of clearance on the 4runner when it comes to chains. It's doable, but I'd be careful about what chains I used.
  5. Dogs / Pets ride-along photos thread! 🐾

My dog would never stay in the cargo area so he’s in the back seat too. I got a dog hammock for the 4R from Orvis after recommendations here, it’s by far the nicest I’ve used out of the 6-7 I’ve had over the years. Very soft, my dog loves it.
  6. Dogs / Pets ride-along photos thread! 🐾

Somebody is still tired from his mountain bike ride.
  7. If you're having winter wheels built, have TPMS checked BEFORE install.

I don’t, but they checked all 4 wheels with the scan tool with me right there at my local dealer and discount tire. I don't know why it wasn't done when I had the wheels built a couple weeks ago, other than everyone where I live is trying to get appointments to get their winter tires on before...
  8. If you're having winter wheels built, have TPMS checked BEFORE install.

Sadly I had a lot of issues with the Discount Tire TPMS on my Tacoma which is why I went for the Toyota ones this time. And yes, Discount Tire mounted and tried to read them multiple times and couldn't get any signal from them. The Toyota dealer I bought the TRD Pro wheels and TPMS from said...
  9. No Bass in JBL Rear Subwoofer & Rear Door Speakers

It's easy to test, just leave the front-rear fader in the middle or all the way to the front and listen to the sub. If I put mine all the way to rear, you're right nothing really comes out of the sub. If you put it in normal listening position and listen with the volume above 20-25 it's pretty...
  10. If you're having winter wheels built, have TPMS checked BEFORE install.

I've been trying to get the sensors to register multiple times for about the last 400 miles. They used a hand scanner today and none of the 4 sensors were transmitting at all. Unfortunately I bought the wheels and TPMS online from a Toyota dealer that isn't my local dealer (3 hours away), the...
  11. Owners Manual says no snow chains on 265/70R18 tires. Anyone use cables that will work without damaging?

As mentioned above, The SCC chains fit just fine on the 4Runner. I’d get some winter tires anyway, you will never need to actually put any chains on then. Fellow Oregon snowboarder here. ;)
  12. If you're having winter wheels built, have TPMS checked BEFORE install.

I had a set of winter wheels for my ORP built on TRD Pro wheels and Blizzaks, along with Toyota TPMS since I've had issues with cheaper 3rd party sensors in the past on my Tacoma. Unfortunately I could not get the new TPMS to register in the ORP the last few weeks, so I took them into the...
  13. Second row headrests partially obstucting view in rear view mirror

I would take mine off in a heartbeat if my dog backseat hammock didn't need to attach to them.
  14. What’s the best trim for washboard roads?

I drive rough washboard roads almost daily in my ORP, no matter what you get they are still rough unless you want to spend a lot of money on aftermarket suspension and tires.
  15. Tow strap recommendations?

Title says it all, looking for some decent but not crazy expensive tow straps for helping other drivers get unstuck in snow. There’s been three or 4 times the last couple years I’ve had to help other people in less well equipped vehicles, and having a dedicated tow strap would make it easier...
  16. 2025 4runner TRD Off-Road Premium is useless in the winter (can't fit tire chains)

Plenty of people where I live run their winter tires year round to avoid having to switch or store an extra set of wheels.
  17. Torn between ORP and Limited trims

If you drive off road a lot, get the ORP. If you mainly city drive, get the Limited :)
