  1. Which Should You Buy? 2025 Land Cruiser vs. 2025 4Runner TRD Off-Road -- Verdict: 4Runner is Clear Winner

That's a big reach saying that the Bilstein shocks are an advantage to the 4Runner TRDOR over the LC. The LC rides like a Lexus. I was super impressed with my brother's LC. We don't know the actual ride quality of the 4Runner but probably safe to say that it won't be comparable to the LC...
  2. TRD Pro vs. Trailhunter Suspension Comparison & Flex Test (RTI Score - Ramp Travel Index)

The 4Runner and Tacoma will effectively have the same suspension travel, so they would move the same distance up the ramp on a perfectly rigid and identically weighted chassis. The travel up the ramp is divided by the wheelbase to normalize the RTI for vehicles that are not the same wheelbase...
  3. Owner's Manual & Warranty Maintenance Guide: 2025 4Runner 6th Gen đź“•

Technically vacuum pump is listed as inspect at 120k miles. Unclear what that inspection process is... maybe running the engine and confirming that the vacuum line is pulling at least X of negative pressure?
  4. TRD Pro vs. Trailhunter Suspension Comparison & Flex Test (RTI Score - Ramp Travel Index)

They both have the shorter wheelbase of the 4Runner. The OP's comment that the 4Runner should have the same numbers is not accurate. The wheelbase of the Tacoma is almost 20" longer than the 4Runner even in the Tacoma's shortest wheelbase configuration. That will impact the numbers.
  5. SofTex or Leather interior?

Another vote for Softex. I had leather in my '10 4Runner and it looked OK when I sold it at 4 years and 34k miles. My '16 4Runner with softex looked brand new when I sold it after 7 years and 71k miles (a bunch of those being me jumping in after a mountain bike ride, hike, whatever). I...
  6. Allocations for 2025 4Runner are here! Delivery begins early February 2025

Yea, it really is a bit ridiculous. I had 3 different 5th gens and enjoyed them when I had them, but driving vehicles with 8 speed autos and turbos really made the 5th gen feel like a dinosaur when it was dropping down to 3rd gear to maintain speed on interstate hills. A charming dinosaur, but...
  7. 4Runner 6th Gen "Ordering" and Allocations Explained

Limited has the tan interior with dark gray exterior. The platinum doesn’t add a ton over the Limited. Depends what features you are dead set on, though.
  8. 4Runner 6th Gen "Ordering" and Allocations Explained

I just picked a random zip code in Portland, Maine and there were 9 RWD Tacomas available within 20 miles of that zip. And every single one was an SR grade exactly like I said above. 4Runner might be a different mix since they aren't used for fleet nearly as much, but I was just stating an...
  9. Allocations for 2025 4Runner are here! Delivery begins early February 2025

Yep. The 5th gen 4Runner Pros arrived to port with steel wheels and standard suspension. Steelies and stock bits are scrapped and the pro wheels, fox suspension, and a few other things get added once the vehicle is on this side of the planet.
  10. 4Runner 6th Gen "Ordering" and Allocations Explained

Couple things... Toyota (the manufacturing company) builds the car. The car is ordered by TLS/TMS for the US market. TLS/TMS works with the regional distributors to determine what cars are going to go where. Southeast Toyota and Gulf State Toyota are, IIRC, fully independent while Mid...
  11. Will the proposed tariffs increase the price?

Capitalism is gonna capitalism. If the tariffs go into effect in Canada and Mexico, which supply a significant percentage of US market vehicles, the prices of vehicles will go up across the board because every vehicle competes with every vehicle to a degree. They are all cars used to get...
  12. Allocations for 2025 4Runner are here! Delivery begins early February 2025

Dealers do have some say on what PIO get added to their allocations. In early 2022, my brother wanted to buy a Highlander. They looked at the allocations and found the trim and color he wanted. It was early enough that they were able to drop the nonsense PIO and added a hitch for him. It was...
  13. Curb Weight, GVWR, Towing Capacity for 6th Gen 4runner (2025+)

Pretty big hit to the payload on the Pro and Trailhunter, but I assume the additional armor that comes factory is at least partly to blame. Good to see that the non-hybrids are more or less the same weight as the outgoing model with a LOT more torque and gears available. Should improve...
  14. Best value trim models for 2025 4Runner 6th gen (by use case)

While the SDM not being available on the TRD OR is surprising, a VAST majority of 4Runners don't have KDSS. I bet it is on the order of 1 in 20 or less. When I bought my '16 trail edition, I had to search far and wide to find one with KDSS. It wasn't a game changer, IMO. It drove nice on the...
  15. TRD Pro vs Off-Road - Wheel offset and suspension travel question?

I don't think the geometry will be negatively impacted that much by a relatively small change in offset. If you aren't adding a lift, I wouldn't worry about geometry. If you are going crazy big on tires, all bets are off, though. The eKDSS GX has less flex than a Land Cruiser with SDM, so...
  16. TRD Pro vs Off-Road - Wheel offset and suspension travel question?

The track width is completely due to different offset in the wheels. The Pro has wider fender flares to account for the more outset tires. That said, it appears that the Pro has a different upper control arm up front and the fox suspension itself might have more travel in the shock. We won't...
  17. Premium fuel 91 octane gains 20 hp / 14 lb-ft torque (vs. 87 octane) on gas engine 2.4L i-Force -- dyno test

The spec sheet does state "regular" from Toyota. Not sure what the owner's manual will say, though.
  18. SR5 Specs, Features, Price -- 2025 4Runner 6th Gen ++ Colors, Interiors, Accessories, Options

Add them aftermarket. If you don't value all that other stuff in the TRD OR or Sport, aftermarket is the way to go.
