New 4R6G, 110 miles. We are new to Toyota and its common nuances. We hear a noise, especially if your standing outside the car just after you turn the engine off or its possible just after you shift into park. It sounds like an animal squealing for about 1 second.
I am aware of the Auto...
A few day old SR5 here. Just checked out the light switches and function and saw what looked to be a dirty main beam lens. The plastic lens looked scratched or etched but, it was not or at least not in the areas I was looking.
When you turn off the light and inspect with an led flashlight, no...
I was at 17 miles until today. Now at a whopping 78 miles driving carefully to break-in the engine. I repurchased Carista knowing I may want to check codes, customize features, etc. I used it on another vehicle a few weeks ago and it's pretty slick. I previously had a tool for VW's that was way...
Maybe old news but has anyone notices the Morse Code on the lower passenger side of windscreen. Also, on the dash accessory cover.
Windshield translates to Bad Ass Truck.
Accessory cover is a bit more boring, translates to Accessory Ready.
I nice touch on the windscreen.
After trying to use the GPS in a new 4R SR5 today, it seems like thew GPS offering is cloud based with a $15 subscription. I am aware you can use CarPlay and a variety of apps. My wife's question is if your in an area with no cell coverage, will you have GPS capability.
I realize that is true...
New 4r SR5 here. I was under the impression that even the SR5 has a Drive Connect subscription for 1 year. I see all the other subscriptions like remote connect, service connect in the app but not drive connect. The main Info screen always starts with a "Get Started" message for what I assume is...
I have only had PPF installed once, back in 2014. It was full front, mirrors, a-pilars and half hood using 3M film. Even today it looks goos and has protected the pain very well. The cost back in 2014 was $650 installed.
I just called three local installers in Tennessee and found the cost to...
All entrances to the 4R have grab handles except tge drivers side. Not sure why, maybe your supposed to grab the steering wheel. Please enlighten me.
Are any Toyota or after market grab handles that would work and blend in.
Thanks.
Looks like the cargo floor is not user removable or hiding and storage areas. Can anyone confirm?
Also, on the driver side rear cargo floor there is a plastic cover to a cut out but, again, does not seem to be a user removable area.
My goal was to find storage for infrequently used items.
Does the SR 5 have acoustic glass? If so, how would I know from the markings?
I suspect this is another “bate and switch” from the Toyota team at San Diego along with heated seats and other stuff that did not appear in the production models.
UPDATE - GOOD NEWS
Thanks to "Timelaps" and the tip...
Does anyone know if the 2024 or Tacoma sunshades are the same size and work for a 2025 4R? I would prefer a folding one as opposed to a roll-up or one that needs a degree on origami.
Recommendations welcomed... Thanks.
I picked my 4R up a few days ago. I got to see it as it was just removed from the truck. It was a bit dirty but closely looking at the paint and taking a video, no dings or scratches.
They then took it to the detail dept to clean, prep and apply the mandatory $700 ceramic coating. The whole...
I picked up my new 4R6G yesterday. I inspected it off the truck and then the dealer had to do some service checks and the mandatory detail and ceramic treatment. They did a pretty shitty job as I see finger and hand prints on it or it was staff hanging out putting their hands on it. Anyways, I...
I just picked up my new 4R6G. I registered the app and connected services at the dealer. I got an email from AT&T offering a $20 a month plan ($5 off regular) if I sign up within 2 days of activation. Has anyone done this?
It might be useful as I have a 1GB data family plan with Xfinity (low...
I only have 1 hours experience with the Toyota's app and my new 4R6G. My question is about installing the app on my wife's phone and using the same car features. Has anyone done this. Will it need a separate account or just a second instance of my account?
Thanks......

I have been waiting patiently for my new 4R6G SR5. Deposit made a while ago and have been getting weekly updated from the dealer. The last update was 6 days ago stating the vehicle was off the train and on a truck for delivery to the dealer. I was giving a 3 days Window, yesterday being the last...
Excuse my ignorance on tires as I have only ever used the stock size tires on vehicles I own. My usage will be 95% on road so aggressive off road tires are not needed.
My goal is to improve in town and highway driving over potholes, bumps, etc. The roads in my location are just awful. My...
I have a 4R6G on order. In preparation, I am building a maintenance schedule that is more intense that the standard Toyota Schedule. I usually keep my vehicles for 200-300K. For example, 5K oil and filter change, 50K coolant, 60K Transmission, Diffs and transfer case.
I also like to use the...
Hello:
I am waiting my new 4R6G but believe I read about possible issues with the accuracy of the low fuel alert. Disclaimer, I initially liked at a lot of other vehicles so I could be confusing an issue from a different model. I looked at Grand Highlander, Sequoia, Ford Explorer, GMC Yukon...
