It doesn't come with it. (I thought it did from all the youtube videos) I ordered it at the dealer... A hidden flashlight/lantern can always be useful. (But expensive, sigh)
I was debating between the 2. I did test drive both. (Well they didn't have a Trailhunter,so I tested and TRD Offroad Hybrid.
The trailhunter has all the bells and whistles (Roof rack, steel skid plates, air compressor, lifted, tires)
I could get all that on the Land Cruiser, but it was all...
Haha, I used Sport mode once (an afternoon) It does make a difference on the fun level. I would say I ran 1/2 of it in Normal, and the other 1/2 in eco to try to get it up a bit.
BUT... I might have exaggerated a bit on the speed, on the highway (Had to do GA -> NY and NY -> GA so that...
Great write up!
I just passed the 4000 miles mark on my Trailhunter, It's my 1st 4Runner, and I love it. Only been offroad once so far, it played very well in the mud. :) My only gripe so far, is not the snorkel but the MPG, I can't get above 16.5 MPG Most of my miles are on the highway...
I installed mine yesterday. In the heat... It was not fun, but the end result is pretty cool. I am setting up my molle pouches, and will take a pic and post it here when it's all done. Cali Raised for the win :)
There is a lot of that (about 75% of my mileage is on the highway > 70mph) Hopefully it will be starting to climb up. I have one more 1000 mile trip, then it will be driving around town for a while...
And I use Regular 87, I'll try either ethanol free, or 89 see if that makes a...
Ah! I'm hovering at 16.5 and 16.6 MPG.... And I did mostly Highway... :( I'm guessing the Trailhunter's got alot to carry. (Steel skid plates, Rock skid plates, and the infamous snorkel)
I'm in a trailhunter just got over 1000 miles on it, mostly highway. And I can't seem to get it over 16.1 mpg. I'm hoping city driving will get it up a bit, that's not even 300 miles on a tank
I picked up my TH last week. And I agree with everything you said. Love the thing. I didn't know about the -- in front of the battery storage! Cool.
The app is trying to connect all the time, 1 week in, still don't have a fully operational Toyota app :( But I use Android auto when I'm...
I have a Trailhunter and it does have an alternator. It is used to feed the battery for the AUX items. (So if your Hybrid 4Runner has AUX switches, it has an alternator. :)
And like the car care nut said. () IF the hybrid system fails in 15 years, the engine still has everything it needs to...
I believe it comes from the hybrid battery. 1) the max amount of watt is 2400w that would pull 200 amps from the poor car battery, it would kill it in minutes, if not seconds. 2) The non hybrid have a max of 400 wattt being pulled it you max it out the alternator would work overtime, but it...
