On my 4Runner, I already have three OEM recovery points installed. I have the ORP trim, but I assumed all trims have these OEM recovery points. Did you replace existing hardware or just add new hardware? If you replaced the OEM hardware, is there a functional advantage. The rear point looks like it might stick out a little further. Just asking because I'll probably leave mine as-is, but I thought there might be something else I'm missing that is worth considering.

Mine just came with the three standard black painted steel hoop recovery points. Two in front and one in rear on the passenger side. While adequate for recovery I wanted something that would protrude out a little.

Thanks. I figured that was the case. That probably makes them a little easier to use (and find since they're bright red). I figure I'm crawling in the dirt, mud, or snow in any case when I get stuck, or need to help someone else get unstuck. I also keep a hitch adapter with a D-ring. I have an aluminum (lighter) hitch adapter designed to be used with a soft shackle, but I just bought it and haven't used it yet.

I have the same soft shackle hitch adapter in our Tacoma.
