Samsung phone owner here. One of the things I was excited to see in the 6G was the 45w USB-C ports in the front console. I was disappointed to find that the actual output of these 45w ports do not meet the standard to achieve Samsung's "Super Fast Charging 2.0". I was curious as to why my Galaxy S25 Ultra when plugged into the 45w front console port only achieves the "Fast Charge" 15w speed.

Another user posted the actual measured output of these ports:

Front console- 45 watts (19V / 2.4A)
Infotainment screen side- 10 watts (5V / 2A)
Rear passenger- 10 watts (5V / 2A)

Samsung charging standards:
-10W Regular (slow) charging (5V / 2A)
-15W Fast Charge (9V / 2A)
-25W Super Fast Charge (9V / 2.75A)
-45W Super Fast Charge 2.0 (9V / 4.7A)

So aside from the front console ports, the other ports will only get you the barely useful "slow" 10W charging speed.

never expect any car port to support fast charging correctly as implemented by samsung

those oem ports will continue to send full power once your battery reaches 100% (80-85% is ideal if you have the samsung settings set to stop at 80-85%)

also samsung official fast chargers will defer to the phone charge setting and lower output as you get closer to the max (100%) or what you set the max charge to.

  1. Automatic Detection:
When you plug a Samsung Fast Charger into a compatible Galaxy phone, the phone's charging system detects the charger's capabilities.

  2. Feature Activation:
The device will then automatically enable Fast Charging or Super Fast Charging, provided your phone supports it.

  3. Battery Setting Control:
The Fast Charging feature is controlled by the phone's software, and you can manage it through the device's settings menu.

I have the same issue with my Pixel 9. I can do fast charging normally, but when I plug into any of the 4Runner outlets, I do not get "fast charging" to show. Just says "Charging"
