I'm looking to mount an RTT on my (to-be-delivered) SR5--what is the cheapest/lowest-profile way to accomplish this?

I'm seeing that the OEM cross bars are only rated for 125lbs, so it sounds like they're out. What else are people doing?

Your only options would be full-roof aftermarket racks like Prinsu, wescott, sherpa etc. The original prinsu is on sale for like $700 rn.

Anything with a short lead time? I'm not necessarily opposed to the full rack, but we're planning a cross-country road trip almost immediately after we pick up the car

You may want to reach out to Westcott website says 5-6 weeks but that's what it said for the lift and I had it the next week. Its my guess they want to underpromise and deliver sooner but reach out they are very responsive.

I think prinsu has it in stock ready to ship for free.

I'm curious to know if anyone has used unistruts or similar in place of cross beams to support a tent.

Also curious if adjustable cross beams from a company like Thule would work.

Or is the roof rack really the only viable option?

Can get Thule/Yakima cross bars to support the weight of the RTT but I wouldn't trust them when I'm up in it with someone else. Full rack is gonna be your safest. Sherpa is a little pricey but a really heavy duty rack system and looks like they are shipping.
