Hey everyone, I have a 2026 Toyota 4Runner SR5 and I'm planning the following setup:

  • Westcott Designs Preload Collar Lift – 2.5" front / 0.75" rear
  • OEM TRD Pro 4Runner wheels – 18x7.5, +20 offset PT946-35240-2F part number
  • Trying to decide between 285/65R18 and 285/70R18
  • For tires, I'm considering either Toyo Open Country A/T III or Falken Wildpeak A/T4W
I'm leaning toward 285/70R18 because I like the larger, more aggressive look and they're close to a 34" tire, but my main concern is rubbing.

Is anyone running the same or a similar setup?

I'd like to know:

  1. Would you recommend 285/65R18 or 285/70R18 with the TRD Pro 18x7.5 +20 wheels and Westcott lift?
  2. Do you experience any rubbing with 285/70R18, whether at full lock, in reverse, going over bumps, or when the suspension is compressed?
  3. If you have rubbing, where exactly does it rub?
  4. Did you have to do any trimming, push the fender liner forward, remove the safety bracket, or make any other modifications?
  5. Between the Toyo Open Country A/T III and Falken Wildpeak A/T4W, which would you recommend for daily driving and snow?
  6. How did the 285/70R18 affect the ride, MPG, and acceleration?
  7. Would you recommend a different tire size or setup?
The truck will be a daily driver and will also see plenty of winter and snow driving, so I'm looking for a good balance between appearance, snow performance, comfort, and avoiding rubbing or unnecessary modifications.

If anyone has pictures of a similar setup, I'd love to see them.

Thanks!

I had the same preload collars from Westcott Design installed on my 2025 ORP. I haven't swapped tires yet, but will when I need to replace what it came with from the factory. Westcott gave me lots of options which included the Toyo tires you mentioned. May I suggest you call Westcott, and ask them. My thoughts are they have a lot more experience with this and they've always been super to work with
