Northern Utah resident here. I have no problems turning the 4wd dial when necessary. You can change to 4wd up to about 60 mph. 2wd does great in wet and mixed conditions with decent tires. Ice, packed / deeper snow, or off roading I turn it to 4wd.
Imo, I wouldn't base your decision on what trim...

I'd shop around. Give your local car stereo / tint shop a call and see if they install them. I had mine done for $600 using the round rocker switch in the link you provided in the center console. The $600 was through the dealer which had a local custom shop do it. Had I know that the dealer...
The SR5 has a-trac that will get you out of a lot of sticky situations. There are some quarks to it, like needing a sufficient amount of traction loss before it engages, but it works pretty well.
The locker is nice, and necessary in some cases, but I felt that the SR5 would meet the overwhelming...
Where are you reading these comments? What are they saying? I have been getting pretty straight forward information that everything is fine. This question has been addressed for you a couple of times in other threads I have been on and I have seen others including myself report satisfactory...
Thanks for sharing your experience. I'll keep an eye out for leaking. The silicone isn't a big deal and can be removed pretty easy so if I run into problems I'll give that a shot.
Put this setup on my SR5 and haven't noticed a negative thing at all. Road noise is a little louder due to increased tread but other than that it rides and feels as good as stock.
