  1. Sealed Snorkel?

Traction control is great until it isn’t. It’s not an “always on” feature, it’s situational. In mud and sand, momentum is key. If you wait until it starts cutting power mid-pit, it’s already too late. That’s exactly when it kills wheel speed and you bog down. Ask me how I know... Its a great...
  2. Need help with first 4Runner build!!

You would need: Apex predator drop steps - which you said your doing with dealer (OEM) Lasfit LED Turn signals (here) Black Emblem Overlay - would also just ask the dealer (OEM) Front air dam removal - The tires and wheel setup you have in mind will work - There are aftermarket screens, I...
  3. Sealed Snorkel?

Not a dumb questions at all. Traction control will limit your throttle as well as apply brakes to spinning wheels. That can be detrimental to momentum, especially in mud and sand. I was overreacting when I said that, traction control is super useful for slow crawling, rocks, etc.
  4. Sealed Snorkel?

Yea, I was in a few inches up my door for a few minutes when this happened. If anything my door drain system was blocked and some got in. Forgot turn off my traction control. Why 4hi wouldn't automatically disengage traction control is beyond me but it is what it is. Cars fine.
  5. Sealed Snorkel?

Hi all, I'm curious to know if anyone in this forum has installed a deep water snorkel (fully sealed airbox, sealed connectors, etc.)? Would love to hear your experience, what you went with, and why. Any feedback is greatly appreciated! I've gotten to the point where it's worth the piece of...
  6. Toyota aggressive about Dealership Appointments/2025 4Runner IForceMax

You may be on to something. Mailing out physical letters even for the front chin strap (good amount of people take off anyways) does support the idea they're looking to get data from the vehicles. I know there are quite a bit of Toyota techs, salesmen, etc. in this forum. Would be curious to...
  7. Steering Column Height Issue

Interesting to discount an entire brand over ergonomics, which really aren’t that poor. Then again, I discount Range Rover because they have the reliability of a McDonald’s ice cream machine. Wins and losses, I suppose.
  8. Stuck in mud at Pine Barrens. Noob

Yea if its dry it more of a scenic route, but after some rain its a whole different ball game. The first time we went out last year my buddy almost Lost his Ram 1500 because we got caught in a flash flood and he had almost bare A/T's. I could hardly pull him out as I'm quite weighed down, was in...
  9. Stuck in mud at Pine Barrens. Noob

Lmao, i was just there a few weekends ago after the storm on friday. Was a good time, I got stuck 2 or 3 times. That's the fun of it, however, i did have a buddy with me to pull me out haha. What section were you in? We did the trail circled in ed then hopped on byrne to bear
  10. Best Functional Tire, Wheel, Lift & Offset

That is great. My point still stands. You can go 35’s for sure. You’ll just be producing quite a bit of strain on the drive train unless you re-gear. Or maybe the pro has different gearing. Or can go the tune route to lessen the burden of 35’s. Width you’re on the money. I went OME 3in...
  11. Best Functional Tire, Wheel, Lift & Offset

For your use case, 17” wheels are definitely the play. More sidewall = better off-road performance. That’s why most people end up there. I’d be cautious jumping straight to 35s on a preload collar lift though. Sure, It’ll work, but you’re adding weight and stress without gaining travel, and...
  12. Headlight Swap help

You don't have to take off the full front bumper, you can have it kind of hang off. Here are two links that helped me.
  13. WTB - TRD ORP Upper Grille

About to install new headlights and figured I might as well inquire while the front bumper is going to be off. Curious if anyone has this upper grille laying around they'd be willing to part ways with. Can pickup locally or within reason (Baltimore) or happy to pay for shipping. Thanks all
  14. How do you know what suspension is right for you??

hahaha, I gotcha. Your intended use and overall build honestly sound really similar to mine. I’m already running a rack, RTT, skids, etc. Feel free to utilize my posted threads if it helps at all, happy to answer any other questions you may have but I am no professional, lol. All in my...
