With the stock exhaust, the increase in volume is very minimal. There's a little extra volume at cold start when the wastegate is open (to heat the catalysts), but outside of that, it's all but imperceivable.
IMO, the insulated SS heat shielding will retain more thermal energy in the exhaust...

The OEM heat shield does not transfer.
