  1. Transmission Getting Replaced at 5K Miles

No guarantee of prevention, but I'm thinking of booking mine in for a transmission fluid level check/top off.
  2. MagnaFlow Overland Series Exhaust System Install - DIY How-to Video

    It's noise, that's all.
  3. Called purchasing dealer about a VSA (Vehicle Service Agreement)...turns out I have one. I don't remember it being discussed.

No shenanigans for me, fortunately. We agreed on a vehicle, than an all inclusive price which only included the vehicle and a doc fee. Month and a half later on the day of delivery, I was asked once about GAP, a service plan and warranty and I declined all. I brought a cash down payment and a...
  4. Is the dealership/service center I go to full of it/incompetent ?

All true. I actually was wondering, you have to consider just how "calibrated" it is from the factory. They're pushing these things through. Is it a person doing 8t. Is there an automated factory procedure?
  5. Front hitch & sensors

If I had to guess, probably. Maybe companies are concerned about liability or there being no native way to turn off all the sensors and systems. On the other hand, there are other modern vehicles where front hitch points are offered. Is the 6th gen 4Runner unique among them, or is still too new?
  6. Is the dealership/service center I go to full of it/incompetent ?

The dealership certainly should be able to. Maybe the dealer sucks and can't or just won't.
  7. Is the dealership/service center I go to full of it/incompetent ?

I think there's an important distinction between “I didn't notice any problems after a 1.5" lift” and “recalibration wasn't required.” As far as I know, there isn't necessarily going to be a warning or DTC telling you that a camera or radar is somewhat outside its calibrated geometry. The...
  8. What did you do to your 6th Gen 4Runner today?? 👨🏻‍🔧 🧰 🛠

Changed the engine oil and filter at 2480 miles. Toyota filter (it's so tiny) and 0W20 used. Second change, first was at 952 miles, next at 5000 miles.
  9. New England (Maine specifically for me) lets bring some love to this forum

Nice! I like abandoned infrastructure and industry also!
  10. New England (Maine specifically for me) lets bring some love to this forum

I'd just like to spend a day off-the-road, preferably nothing really technical at all or super-tight. Just unpaved goodness, a little dirty.
  11. New England (Maine specifically for me) lets bring some love to this forum

In Southern Maine with my Everest Green Trailhunter that has almost 2500 miles on it now and was delivered on 28 July. I really want to take some drives on logging or fire roads, but it seems like their not as widespread, open, and plentiful as in Northern California.
  12. JBL PREMIUM SYSTEM ~ NEW INFORMATION for Optical or RCA Out & DSP Integration!

Yes, I wanted an ORP with options, but the standard Trailhunter ended up being the easier get and had what I wanted.
  13. Hybrid Real World MPG (iForce Max) - post your model, specs, general driving conditions, results:

Currently, 25.0 mpg by OBC this tank, 22.13 mpg calculated. The OBC is an average 1% lower than calculated.
  14. Trailhunter gap between front bumper and skid plate gap — snow/slush buildup?

I know I can't eliminate it, the openings are less my concern. The long, low gap is as it will act like a scoop. Melting is fine, the salt/brine is just a fact in New England, the refreezing or fouling of the heat exchanger does concern me.
