Winter Tire Size options for 2025 4Runner Limited

Quick question for those who know this stuff:

The Limited comes with 265/55/20. In parts of southern Ontario, those tires won't be great in winter or the snow we get.
I would love to put the 18' TRD Rims on with Winter tires, from Nov to April. Will 265/65/18 work as an option?

Is this the correct tire size with the 18" TRD rims?
Any issues with existing bolt length, or rubbing/fit, or speedometer readings?
Would anything else be needed?

Or are those rims i want to use, simply not an option?

Generally, it helps to stay as close to stock parameters as possible to ensure the suspension, MPG, and handling/feedback all stay the same. You can certainly move to 18" from 20" by reaching a similar tire profile and wheel offset.

It looks like you have a 5th generation 4runner. Generally your stock tire size is 31.5" x 10.4" and your wheels have a +15mm offset.

The 18" TRD wheels from the 6th generation have a hub bore of 95.1, while your 5th generation has a hub bore of 106.1. It will not fit. But you can still find plenty of 18" wheels available for your 4runner.


If you go 18", you might want to consider

Nokian Hakkapeliita LT3.

275/70R18 , 265/70R18 , or 275/65R18

Great winter tires and used by plenty of Canadians

Yes 265/65/18 would be around the same tire diameter as the stock 265/55/20. I am currently on the same boat. I have a TRD sport in Toronto with the stock 265/55/20 tires. I reached out to my dealership asking what type of wheel/tire setup they have for the winter months. They sent me the Steelies with the 265/70/17 tires.

I inquired about any TRD 17" or 18" wheels that I could use instead of steelies and their reply was that there are no TRD wheels for my trim. Wondering if anybody else has gotten this response. Hopefully somebody else has more info on what 17" or 18" TRD we can use.

Hi Matt,

Check on Facebook marketplace for rims. I’ve seen some on there, that are 18 inch. This came off a 2025 Tacoma.
