Hi All,

There are two accessories listed for the Canadian 4Runners — the body moulding, which appears in a few photos on the U.S. website, and the optional lower door moulding. However, I haven’t been able to find any listing or images of the lower door moulding on the U.S. or Canadian sites.

Does anyone have more information on this accessory or comparison photos between the two? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks.

Hey Chris,

Here’s a picture of the lower body side moulding. The body body side is more in the middle of the door for protection.

Thanks for the response Pelo18, it is confusing as on the Toyota website they call it " Lower dour Molding" - do you have any pictures of the body side moulding ? i can't imagine they can both be installed at the same time - wondering how the look will change! :)

Hey Chris,

Sorry, I don’t have a picture of the body side moulding. Unfortunately, even Toyota parts department, doesn’t list the part # on their computers. Told them it was in the accessories for the Toyota Canada website for build and price. It’s so new, that nobody knows, when they will get it.

Hi Chris,

Had to order the lower side moulding and door edge guards from the state side. Luckily my sister is living there. Can’t wait to install them on. They are body coloured to match my vehicle.

Hi Pelo18,

Thanks for the update and pictures.. yes it’s amazing here how it’s hard to get answers from some dealerships on their own products :) that they’re selling ..

I look forward to seeing the pictures once installed — the main reason I’m considering them is because nowadays it’s rare to park your vehicle in a Mall or at big stores only to return and find out someone dinged your doors :) … no matter how considerate in ensuring the proper distance between adjacent vehicles ..

Hey Chris,

Will definitely post pics afterwards. It list the accessories on Toyota Canada website. Go to a dealership parts department, they think we are talking another language. Unbelievable!!
Mall parking is the most brutal for dings and scratches on your vehicle.

Looks good.

Do these lower guard panels fully protect the entire door from someone’s rear door opening up in the parking lot? Do they extended more than the upper panel? For most, the sliders or steps will take the impact unless it’s a rear door that would contact higher into the panel.

I just wanted some xtra protection for mall crawlers parking lots. It might give some protection, unfortunately I can’t afford a security guard to protect my ride. I like the look of the lower body side molding compared to the mid section molding. It follows the contours of the body better, whereas the mid looks out of place.

Agreed. It looks much cleaner than the upper protection panel option.

The lower one appears to be redundant protection assuming you have sliders or the side step panel.
