Yellow Road Paint removal

We have a lot of road work here in Colorado. My black 2-month-old ORP has spots of yellow road paint on the driver's side and back fender. A few days after I noticed it, I had an appointment to have ceramic coating applied. The ceramic coating people said that they couldn't get it off with any of their chemicals and wouldn't put it on the ceramic.

I contacted a detailer who said they could remove it. They worked on it for over an hour and couldn't. They did remove a small chunk with a small plastic blade that scarred the back fender.

I've watched a few YouTube videos, but I am nervous about using some of the chemicals they suggested. Does anyone have any experience removing yellow road paint?

Clearly the road wasn't properly blocked off... I've heard of city's paying to fixed damaged wheels due to pot holes.. how about wet paint?

They do have the pothole fund here as well. I tried contacting the city, but they needed the exact location. I wasn't sure exactly where it happened; I had been everywhere that day. I noticed it after pulling into the driveway that evening. I didn't see any signs, or I would have avoided it!

Have you tried paint thinner? My neighbor owns an auto body shop. Had some spray paint to remove and he gave me some industrial grade paint thinner and it worked without damaging the paint. Worth a test spot. Otherwise I hate to say it on a new car but wet sand and polish.
