Pushing/repinning the fender lining forward to gain clearance?

Hello! As the title says. I see a lot of people are pushing their fender liner forward an inch and repinning it to fit 34s and 35s

I have scoured the internet but I can’t seem to find any information on the right way to do this. I know Wescott designs even mentioned they did this for some of their 6G builds

Is anybody available to post pictures or a tutorial of some sort on how they managed to do this? This would help a lot of people I think as I cannot find information on this anywhere.

I am running the Wescott kit 2.5/.75 with Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT 35x12.50R16s on Method 703s at +35. I had minor rubbing at the front bumper and front fender liner. Primarily when backing up and turned full crank. I ended up trimming the bumper at the outer most fender liner pin location and repinned the liner forward with the bottom bumper bolt that is inline with the wheel. This has eliminated any rubbing in the front. And the fender liner is still quit secure, holding up to mud and snow. I also have the ARK crash bracket delete installed. I did this when I installed the Wescott kit, which was a few days before the wheels and tires went on, so I’m unsure if this kit was actually needed. For mud-flaps, I have the ARK mid sized and I did have to trim the front flaps on the inner side since they rubbed. I cut away a lot from the inner but they are secure and I really wanted them to prevent rocks from being thrown down the side of the doors. The rear flaps were no problem with fitment.

That thing is an absolute beast.

I actually have 17-inch 703’s on a +35 offset, with Toyo Open Country ATIII, 285/75/17. (34 inch tire) I’m going to pair it with a wescott collar lift kit as soon as I receive the package.

I have the ark crash bracket cover coming as well, and I was considering the rally flaps from Ark.

With all these things together, do you think from your personal experience I’ll even need to repin the liner? And do you think the Ark flaps will fit just fine?

if you have images of the flaps I would love to see them.

I think you might be ok for clearance at the front bumper. Your tire is 33.9” and 11.2” wide. My Baja Boss is 34.5” and 12.8” and has a very aggressive sidewall. I’d try it first and see.

I’m not sure which flaps you are referring to, but the Ark mid flaps did require some trimming for the front wheels on the inside lower edge so they didn’t stick out towards the crash bracket area so much. I circle the area in red on that image. I do like they way they fit with the factory wheel flares on my ORP and they keep the rocks off the doors and mud/snow off the side steps.
