Installing VIOFO A119 Mini 2 Dash Cam - Questions about install

Hello!
I have a SR5 and just purchased the A119 Mini 2 dash cam. A coworker told me to buy the hard wiring kit to wire directly to the battery on top of this. Recently ive been seeing the Dongar Pro mentioned on lots of threads and I just wanted to reach out to see if anyone had installed this camera yet and to hear what you used or whats easiest

I was exactly in the same situation as you. Did some research into dongar since it seems so much more convenient but I think there was a wire/connection missing which didn’t enable parking mode (I fail to recall the details). I ended up installing the VIOFO system with the hard wire kit. Tucking in the wiring under the trim is fairly easy (I’ve done this with my other vehicles). Bought a 3D printed bracket for my rear camera (Etsy) to mount on the ceiling since you can’t install it on the rear window. Pretty happy with my setup

I used these instructions to install my A119 Mini 2 in my 4runner. These instructions are for a sienna (which i also have) but the only difference is the stock 4runner dash cam connector in the overhead console is white on the left/driver side, instead of blue like the pictures illustrated in the sienna.

You will need to order that subaru harness (part number in link) and the hardwire kit for the A119 Mini 2 (can be bought off amazon) and splice them together to make your plug-and-play harness and should be about it. Worked like a charm for both my 4runner and sienna.

I put my rear cam on velcro on my rear window. Had it on for a couple days, until I rolled down the rear completely and ... "Oh... right".
