Only if you're a good shot and load +p+ ammo. Otherwise I would stick with a bigger caliber. Large animals like bear don't go down easy

I’ve considered taking the over/under, but it takes space and time to put together. I have a good can of bear-spray, that might take care of anything animal or human.
