Delete JBL Subwoofer for more storage space?

I have a 6th gen ORP on order, but really don't have a need for the included subwoofer taking up the storage box in the rear. I'm hoping I can just disconnect it and remove.

Can anyone confirm if the wall paneling is different than the SR5 trim with the storage space where the subwoofer sits on higher trim?
