Found a great price on some Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S in 285/17 17 for my SR5. I wanted a more aggressive tread, but Ive had these in the past on an F150 and they were great. The price is great, I need 5 for the spare, and the weight is low for the size range. Im leaning towards these since they keep the similar dimensions as the ORP wheel/tires from factory and the 4R will be used for highway, beach and light trails, so not sure one of the super aggressive treads is necessary besides the looks department.

Anyone else have these on their 4R?

The Cooper AT3 4S is a perfect match for your 4Runner's actual usage.

Yea, thats kind of where my head was at since they fit my use, Ive had them before on another vehicle and liked them and the price is killer compared to the more aggressive ones I was looking at. Im trying to be "budget"conscious on this since its our "fun/trip" vehicle, and I planned on giving it to my daughter in 5 years when she starts driving since it will be lower mileage, 5 years old and we already have built memories with it by then.

Im limited on height due to my garage being so short, so I wanted to go up in tire size and the WD lo pro roof rack, which would max out my height allowance. Maybe a small front level, but thats it. Thats the one part that had me leaning towards the more aggressive treads since the treads are the most aggressive thing I can due because of the above restrictions.

I'll probably order them tonight unless theres a reply with a strong reason not to. Ive already ordered and OEM wheel for the spare so I can have it all done at the same time. Id love some aftermarket, but tying back to the "budget" part and my daughter eventually getting it, I didnt see a reason to spend the money and the OEMs are nice, just need black lug nuts.
