COBB has now received CARB approval for the 2025+ i-FORCE MAX 4Runner Accessport, making the hybrid platform 50-state legal. COBB currently lists the hybrid 4Runner Accessport under CARB EO D-660-346.

That opens the door for California hybrid 4Runner owners who have been waiting to use the COBB platform and work with CAMTuning.

For anyone unfamiliar with my process, everything is handled remotely.

The COBB Accessport is available directly through my site bundled with either

Reflash
Best suited to a relatively standard truck where a full revision-based custom calibration isn’t necessary. I send the calibration, you log the truck, and I personally perform an in-depth review of the data to verify that fueling, trims, boost, knock behavior, torque control and the rest of the calibration are operating correctly.

Custom Tune
The full revision-based tuning process. The calibration is built around your specific truck, fuel and modifications, followed by datalog review and revisions as needed.

The normal workflow is:
  1. Install the Accessport.
  2. I build and send your CAMTuning calibration.
  3. You perform the requested log.
  4. I review fueling, trims, boost, spark, knock, load and torque control.
  5. Custom Tune customers receive revisions until the calibration is complete.
On the automatic trucks, I also spend a lot of time on TCM behavior — throttle response, shift scheduling, torque converter behavior and overall drivability — not simply chasing a peak dyno number.

Factory protections remain intact, and I do not disable emissions systems or safeguards.

If you already own an Accessport, tuning is available separately. If you need the complete setup, both Accessport + Reflash and Accessport + Custom Tune packages are available directly through my site.

Is the custom tune with the revisions a onetime thing for that time only or can you get revisions as long as you own the truck? Say if you get upgrades years later and want a revision tune.

It's on a case-by-case basis, but my standard practice is to update for any reasonable changes: an intake or exhaus, charge pipes, etc., even if it's just verification of the install (although an adjustment should not be needed). If you decide to go larger turbo or make some major modifications later, there would be a nominal charge to modify the tune for that.
