  1. 2026 Trailhunter 300 miles on the clock and 1st wash in the books

Almost 5000 on mine since July. People swoon over the color and then ask about some of the add on stuff and wheels, etc. "Is that factory?" Had to wait for the color a bit, bit it was worth it.
  2. What did you do to your 6th Gen 4Runner today?? 👨🏻‍🔧 🧰 🛠

Replaced the factory windshield wipers with Rain-X Rugged XL. The driver side one developed some type of defect that left streaks behind.
  3. Hybrid system malfunction /check engine

Your dealer is dumb. It's under warranty. Make them take it in, document the warning and that they say nothing is wrong or fix it. Maybe find another dealer.
  4. Wheel alignment?

I just have 4000 miles on mine and didn't notice anything. I like to run very low toe-in on the front so I took it my alignment guy and it was pretty bad from the factory. I feel better knowing what it is aligned to and that it's going to help minimize tire wear. I have the alignment rechecked...
  5. Trailhunter vs TRD pro

I went in wanting a ORP with options and Everest Green. The options and color were rare together and the dealer offered the Trailhunter as an option. I wanted something under warranty, with ground clearance, and off-the-road capability. I have to be able to get down the driveway, through the...
  6. Moving dash controls to the MM display

The Trailhunter knob (14" display) is about an inch in diameter and does have tactile feedback. I could see how a smooth turning knob would be odd feeling.
  7. Edmunds hates the 6th Gen 4Runner.

6'3" 260 pounds and the same. Feels like six inches between my head and the headliner. The key, no moonroof, for one. It depends on how you adjust the seat, your proportions, etc. A review should mention it, for sure. Concluding the seats are crap, the seating position is crap, you either can't...
  8. Giant “SOURCE” button on AppleCarPlay

Among other things, if you use the SOURCE button on the steering wheel, it cycles through Amazon music and creates a popup that you have to physically dismiss if you don't have any data services enabled and I'd imagine it's similar if you're not a Amazon Music member. I also don't like the...
  9. Moving dash controls to the MM display

I dont mind the buttons or layout and am super thankful they're not fake touch buttons. I'll piggyback on this with a few questions about the automatic HVAC system in my Trailhunter. I normally leave it in AUTO with SYNC enabled and the temperature set to 72F or so. When AUTO is selected, the...
  10. PSI for 275/60/20

Weigh your vehicle and obtain the front and rear axle weights. Look up your specific tire type and size in the Tire Load and Inflation Table by the TRA and determine the pressure needed to support your vehicle.
  11. Hello 4Runner6G! Mangoal Dash Cam here

I agree that Sony STARVIS 2 sensors are excellent, but Mangoal also uses STARVIS 2 sensors in its newer camera system. These are the specifications Mangoal provided directly in response to my questions: Front camera: - Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 sensor - 3840 × 2160 (4K UHD) - HDR recording - 130°...
  12. Hello 4Runner6G! Mangoal Dash Cam here

Perhaps. The difference for me is that Mangool answered every single one of my 21 questions. FITCAMX did not/would not despite several tries. From what I received, the hardware in the Mangool is better in some regards, but cannot be compared apples to apples because one comany doesn't share all...
  13. Edmunds hates the 6th Gen 4Runner.

What I don't like is the strict conclusions. It rides rough, the cargo deck is high, etc. You could review it and actually take measurements. You might mention the cargo deck is high and might be an issue for some but not doing it poor form and lazy. Saying that it rides rougher than others, but...
  14. Carista function and Alternative apps

Not likely. The LAUNCH tools are diagnostic tools that can interrogate and write to modules, perform service resets, execute diagnostic procedures, read real time data, etc. Carista offers some of these functions and provides them via an easy to understand app. If they'd sell it outright at $60...
  15. Carista function and Alternative apps

You don't have to do anything. Even if it's identical, no subscription. Ever. If it's not, 95% of the 61 settings I don't even care about. I choose that over anything that requires a subscription. The LAUNCH tool is a proper diagnostic tool. Carista does have some of those features beyond...
  16. Carista function and Alternative apps

My research says otherwise. The specific Toyota/Lexus LAUNCH Creader Elite 3.0 has more. And doesn't require a subscription. Ever. That means if a module gets replaced, the entire vehicle order has to be uploaded, etc., I don't have to pay a fee in perpetuity.
  17. Which drive mode do you prefer to drive in?

Yes. I run the HVAC in AUTO at 70-72F, usually set the cruise between 55-65 mph. On a 100 mile or so trip, I averaged 26.6 by OBC and, as shown above, my OBC is actually a bit pessimistic. . .
  18. Which drive mode do you prefer to drive in?

I have been tracking since new, now at ~3500 miles using mostly ECO and just driving how I drive, nothing special: Average of individual calculated tank MPG 22.42 MPG Average of individual OBC MPG readings 22.27 MPG Aggregate fuel economy — total miles ÷ total gallons 22.43 MPG
  19. Carista function and Alternative apps

I'm buying the LAUNCH Creader Elite 3.0 — Toyota/Lexus Special Car because subscriptions are stupid.
