  1. Your favorite tire for both looks and performance?

I would add that you can go up a little with 275/65/18 vs the 275/70/18 and still be within almost spec height. I did the G3's, but I've had the Falken's and Toyo as well. I wanted to try out the Terra Grappler G3's but if I had to pick one with no other options out there it would probably be...
  2. Cleaning door jams/behind rubber seal, and window seals.

I would say you got a good start. A cheap detail brush to agitate the stuff and a cheap pump sprayer would probably keep you ahead of the curve. I find microfibers work fine for this area, I usually grab a bunch of the Harbor Freight ones when they're free or like $1 and use them specifically...
  3. Cleaning door jams/behind rubber seal, and window seals.

Give them a good cleaning with a detail brush getting behind and flushing that stuff out. From that point when you wash the car after you're done give the door jambs a quick wipedown with a spray wax. Keeps them slick and clean, gets easier every time as they are waxed.
  4. Ceramic coating - safe for the unpainted fender flares?

This guy has some great tests and reviews of a bunch of products. Well worth the watch.
  5. Good product for black wheels - Turtle Wax Ceramic Wet Wax

I see this topic come up time to time on various groups and boards and thought I'd share what I use with excellent results. I've had the gray SEMA wheels, black SEMA wheels, black flow form wheels and now the black TRD accessory wheels on my 26 ORP. I've tried numerous different products from...
  6. Ceramic coating - safe for the unpainted fender flares?

Chemical Guys you mean? Got a different google result for brothers, lol. Just about all ceramic coatings are good for just about any part of the vehicle, I'm not familiar with theirs but Adam's graphine, Cerakote ceramic etc is just fine on the plastics. Keep in mind almost all the coatings...
  7. Can’t find the transmission drain plug

Welp, this was kind of a PIA, I had topped off the diffs and transfer case last week and wanted to tackle the trans as I'm kind of OCD. Front diff barely took any fluid to come up to the fill plug, rear diff took probably half a quart, transfer case took about a 1/4 or so. I tried to do the...
  8. WeatherTech vs Lasfit floor mats

Where are you talking about? The mat will wear thru the carpet, I'm confused.
  9. WeatherTech vs Lasfit floor mats

Have had many sets of Lasfit and WeatherTech I'll chime in. Buy the Lasfit ones, period. The WT ones are hard and stiff and do not clean easily without some specialty chemicals to get them to look good again. Plus they just don't have the coverage of the Lasfit ones. Looking at the door...
  10. Magnetic drain plug for oil change -- recommendations?

Ok well, did first oil / filter change yesterday. I've been doing my own oil changes for 40+ years and still underestimated the force that the hot oil would come spraying out of the drain hole... Why does it not aim down??? Anyway, got it done and all cleaned up, used the Gold Plug and safety...
  11. Differential Fluid Change DIY Guide (Front & Rear Diff) - for 2025+ 4Runner 6th gen

Anyone ever check the levels when you first get the vehicle? This is my 4th 4Runner and I always make it a habit to double check the diff's and transfer case. Just got done and the rear was pretty light I think I put about a 1/3rd of a quart in, front was a little better. Transfer case was...
  12. What did you do to your 6th Gen 4Runner today?? 👨🏻‍🔧 🧰 🛠

I did the horns about a week ago I think. Another worthwhile investment.
  13. What did you do to your 6th Gen 4Runner today?? 👨🏻‍🔧 🧰 🛠

Redline Hood Struts for me today.
  14. Interior Fuse Box - Hardwiring Dashcam question

Just a flat chisel blade X-Acto knife. I was going to clean it up a little but it's functional and I can't see ever really needing to take it off again unless I gotta replace a fuse. Way better than cutting a hole it.
  15. Fuse Taps for Dash Cam too tall?

I posted this in the other thread too. I believe I can live with this. I removed the ribs off the cover panel where the fuse box is and I believe it gave me just enough room. Using my borescope it appears there is just the smallest of gap between the panel and the fuse taps, or barely...
  16. Interior Fuse Box - Hardwiring Dashcam question

I think I found an acceptable solution. I ended up removing all the support ribs on the portion that covers the fuse box. After that I think there is tiny gap between the fuse taps and the cover, initially I thought I'd end up just routing a hole in the panel, but I think I can live with this.
  17. Interior Fuse Box - Hardwiring Dashcam question

Ok anyone find a good solution for getting the panel back on with the fuse taps? I've got everything routed and working perfectly but I would like the panel back under the glove box. I don't care about the fuse cover, that goes in the glove. Anyone know of any lower profile fuse taps?
  18. Fuse Taps for Dash Cam too tall?

Alright, I've scoured the threads to the best of my ability and I don't think I found anyone that had a real solution yet. Installed my Viofo A119M Pro and the hardwire kit. Tapped an unused slot for the ACC and the dome light fuse for the constant 12v. Started to tuck everything up and...
  19. Spyder Joint + Slip Yoke Question

Yep, I didn't try to flush them or get "fat ropes" but yes I confirmed grease all the way around. I will be doing this again 5K with oil change #2. Now if I ever had to cross deep water, then absolutely will I be doing it. Thank you for the tip though, it is appreciated.
  20. 3D Printed Oil Filter Drain?

It's not, and I'm perfectly capable of doing it, just as I've been doing for the last 43yrs of changing oil. I just like tools and gizmos to print for the fun of it.
