Had the same issue with my platinum. I got working by moving the seat all the way forward, backward, up, and down. Would recommend you follow the thread posted earlier.

Hello everyone, I’m hoping you can help me out with some ideas for mounting a radar detector. I’m thinking about using a blendmount on the mirror, but I’m not sure how to connect it to the digital mirror to get the power. This is for a 4Runner Platinum.

Check and see if there is an update for her phone. Carplay is controlled by the phone. The IOS 26 release also updated the CarPlay. They even made so you can watch video while the car is in park but sadly only BMW enabled it for their vehicles.
