  2. Tahara, Japan Built 4Runners - How Much Does it Matter?

    Same reason I bought mine.
  3. Colorado WTB - Running Boards

Interested in either of the options for running boards in Colorado. If you have some for sale, please message me with photos, price and location. Thanks!
  4. What octane fuel are you using in Colorado?

I run 91 in Colorado, get a little bit better MPG and it's a forced induction engine, so why not.
  5. 6th gen vs 5th gen: My Perspective

Good question, I actually like the drivetrain of the 4runner better. Turbos just make all the difference for low end torque. The GX is way more luxurious of course, and it will get 17-18 mpg vs the 4runner’s 21-25. The lexus is quieter but its also much older tech. I love them both and was in...
  6. 6th gen vs 5th gen: My Perspective

Thanks @dc503 Yeah, I feel you with my 21 TRD OR, and my 2022 SR5, I just eventually gave up and went back to stock sized tires, I got so tired of going to discount tire and chasing different variables to try to get the wheel to stop shaking. I'm now at 2000 miles as well on my sixth gen with...
  7. 6th gen vs 5th gen: My Perspective

I was just moving a few pieces of furniture then selling the trailer (bought it when I had my Superduty), so I didn't install a trailer brake controller, likely will in the future though. Tires were at 38 psi.
  8. 6th gen vs 5th gen: My Perspective

That is a great point, I completely forgot about that, as I was just writing this over dinner last night. Yes the new one is much more surefooted.
  9. 6th gen vs 5th gen: My Perspective

I’m looking to do the same thing, haven’t bought the trailer or side by side (sold the cargo trailer yesterday), let me know how it goes if you end up switching.
  10. 6th gen vs 5th gen: My Perspective

For anyone that finds this useful, this is my take on the two, after owning 3 previous 5th gens and now a 6th gen (for the last month with 2,000 miles on it including towing miles). Additionally, I have owned 1st and 2nd gen Tundras, a 200 series, a GX 470 and 460, a 1st and 2nd gen 4Runner... I...
  11. Roof Load Rating Change - Bummer

For any of you considering a roof top tent, be warned that the dynamic roof load rating of the 6th gen is now 165, down from 300 lbs on the 5th gen. I was a bit bummed to hear that as I intend to put a tent up top, I'll now need to be very selective and find a very light weight tent and rack.
  12. 265/70R17 Wildpeak AT4W (31.5") tires installed on stock SR5 wheels

Interesting, I was going to remove my air dam this weekend and was wondering what the mpg penalty would be, if at all. Thanks
  13. 265/70R17 Wildpeak AT4W (31.5") tires installed on stock SR5 wheels

That was total combined with me trying to be super easy on it. Nice, such a good tire!
  14. 265/70R17 Wildpeak AT4W (31.5") tires installed on stock SR5 wheels

Yeah no rubbing, not even close. I really like this size. It did drop mpg from 26 to 21 (I drive light and live at altitude which helps) but really like it.
  15. Insurance Cost Comparison

I’m almost the same on my SR5 in Colorado. Was very surprised.
  16. SR5 Tire Upgrade: Falken Wildpeak 285/70/17 AT4W (33" 33's). No lift no rub

For anyone considering Falken Wildpeak, here is Falken's internal spec for documentation. Discount Tire and other stores will install without referencing this. https://www.falkentire.com/wildpeak/at4w#size-list
  17. SR5 Tire Upgrade: Falken Wildpeak 285/70/17 AT4W (33" 33's). No lift no rub

I have the same tire in 265/70/17 on mine. I wanted the 285 bit didn’t want to change wheels. The stock sr5 17s are nice.
