Sorry if I was unclear in my update. I took the vehicle back to the place that rejected the inspection and showed them my information and got them to pass the inspection. Street legal and it feels soo good!
Update: After gathering documentation on the Toyota Premium Taillights that I purchased and the VA vehicle inspection regulations, I returned to the service station that failed my 4Runner. After presenting my documentation, the owner directed his inspector to pass my 4Runner. Goes to show, don’t...
Purchase from Toyota Online Parts. Pulled the part number from this forum and purchased them directly from Toyota.
I have the feeling that I ran into an idiot. I will take care of it. Thx for the compliment on the taillights. I like them. I think that it's a little silly that they don't include...
I am so mad! I just had my 4Runner ORP Fail the Va State Inspection. I purchased and installed OEM Premium Taillights but he couldn’t find the DOT markings on the Taillights. Anybody run into something this stupid? I will take it to a dealership to get the state inspection. I would figure that...
I had my grille swap done by "Trick Trucks". I really like the Heretic Light Bar. It puts out a lot of light. They installed off the Aux Switch 1. I was hoping that they could just pull out the Aux Switch and replace it with the Rave Auto TRD Light Bar supplied switch. They said they weren't...
Gordon, I really like your build. I done a lot of the same things with my Cutting Edge TRD ORP that I’ve posted on this site and the 6th gen facebook group. Would you mind showing photos of the installation process of the sound deadening material?
Yes, I had the unthreaded bolt holes issue. I took it to an Off Road Shop and they used Blind Bolts for the issue. I supplied ATC Specialty Products 1/4 Box Bolts but the Shop didn't trust them and they had Blind Bolts for the install. It worked out in the end.
The Brake Lights are the TRD Pro and TrailHunter Brake Lights. These were remarkable easy to install. I did it myself.
Here is where I bought them from. Usually discounted off MSRP and free shipping. You will need right and left...
This was out of my mechanical expertise, so I had it done at an Off Road Shop. They said it was a pain in the ass with layer upon layer to pull apart and put back together with the new parts. The tail lights, premium horn and skid plate were easy as you can get. Good luck in your build.
I’m very proud of this build. Thinking about some new shoes. Maybe next year. Here is what I did:
Toyota OEM TRD Front Skid Plate, Aluminum
Toyota OEM ARB Trailhunter Roof Rack
Lasfit Floor Mats & Cargo Mats
Lasfit 7443 LED Front Switchback Turn Signals
Toyota OEM 4Runner Premium Brake Lights...
With the angled phone charger, there is not a lot of great space. I bought this tray for the dashboard on the Amazon and it seems to solve my storage problem.
I am doing the same thing. I have gotten Rave Off Road to sell me the Heretic 20" Light Bar with Brackets to fit the 4Runner. They also sold me the Extended Camera Cable to deal with the issue for moving the camera from the lower grille to the upper grille...
I installed OEM Frame Mounted Rockrails on my 4Runner Off Road and I am willing to give up my Running Boards to anyone interested in the area. Direct Message if interested
