I think every substantial build has an element of modifying “just for looks” - very true when it comes to rim selection for example. I hate fake beadlocks and will die on that hill. Auxiliary lighting is another one where the line between practical and cosmetic is a little fuzzy.
If someone...
If you have an actual argument and some facts you can present to show that I have no idea what I’m talking about then you should present them.
Otherwise get out of here with that “troll” bullshit. I’m not a troll because your dumb ass didn’t bother doing basic research on the way suspension...
The mods were perfectly fine. Just picked the wrong UCAs is all.
As far as having a dedicated offroader…I wish. I’d love a UTV but nowhere to store it and I’d still need a big expensive vehicle to tow it with.
He said he won’t work on modified vehicles period so I’m not sure he’s knowledgeable...
150lbs does not warrant the need to go to a heavier coil. It’s like riding with a passenger
You have more than just 150lbs on there if I had to guess….Including a diesel can? That’s an interesting choice.
Probably not a good idea unless you really know what you’re doing
That’s a choice...
Sure, but you could also do green trails stock.
Having “high quality” spacers doesn’t affect the physics. It reduces the chances of the spacer itself failing, at best. Spacers are a very simple part and there’s not going to be much difference between a $200 spacer and a $400 spacer at the end...
Well, I destroyed both front shocks on my old 4th gen getting a little too frisky down a fire road with a spacer/collar lift. It topped out too hard and busted the nuts on top of the tower.
So I hurt me I guess. As far as I’m concerned they’re essentially cosmetics only and you’re putting a lot...
I think you guys are nuts for doing a spacer or preload collar lift. Especially if you’re going to do any serious offroading.
A spacer effectively makes your shock longer and screws with CV angles etc. quite a bit.
A preload collar changes how much sag you have at 0 load and can significantly...
Ordered the 3.2s, OME UCAs, and 17” Fifteen52 Turbomac HDs w/ E-rated 285/70r17 Duratracs.
Mods please delete if not allowed, but AI slop rendering of my vision for the final build is below - not sure what’s going on with the extra fog lights, but I do want the 2 round ambers in a hoop like...
Ended up pulling the trigger today. Might end up regretting not waiting for the 8112 to come out for the 6th Gen, but I’m stoked. Deciding on wheels now.
You’re the only guy who has installed these apparently - very little fitment information.
Do you have any thoughts about what the ideal UCA setup would be, and if there’s any need to tweak front bump stops? I want to pull the trigger but I don’t want my DD to be out of commission for weeks...
Hey all, new member and 6G owner here looking for some build advice from you knowledgeable folks.
I own a 2026 TRD Offroad Hybrid which I bought about a month ago. It will be my daily driver for commuting 40 miles round trip during the week. On the weekends I’ll be using it mostly for getting...
