There are a lot more roof racks available now than when I looked back in May. Many of them are having black friday sales.
In case you are looking too, here's a catalog of what full length racks are available, in table form. Let me know of any errors or omissions, since I threw this together...
These (free) documents may be of interest to some.
Link: emergency responder docs
From the "Manuals" tab, "Emergency responder and dismantler information is available free of charge"
select division=toyota
model=4runner
year=2025
Then click search. It brings up a list of documents to...
I recently did some driving with the rear window down. I seem to be getting exhaust fumes in the cabin, but I'm not positive they were from my 4runner because it was in traffic. Just wondered if others have experienced the same thing.
It probably wasn't the best design to have a rear-exiting...
This turns out to be a pretty useful feature (pg 231 of the manual). You use it in stop-and-go traffic, or if you're in the line for a drive-thru window (I suppose you could leave it always on for regular driving too, e.g. at stop lights). The purpose is so you don't have to keep your foot on...
I have a hard time keeping track of which of the 16 choices for the info displayed in the 12.3" MID I last selected, and which is on which of the 3 pages, left or right display, etc. I thought it might become second nature through repetition but since any change overwrites your previous setting...
As you may or may not know, all Toyota keyfobs dating back many years allow you to disable the keyfob transmitter so it's not constantly sending out codes (the transmitter disabling process is just a 2 button, 3 press process, see 1:45 in this video:
The video also explains why the keyfob...
I live in the desert SW and daily highs have been well over 100 but I've never seen the dash display read higher than 98 (and that was on a day when my home thermometer (in the shade) was showing 117*.
It's been 105 or higher every time I've driven it in the past 10 days or so, but the dash...
I don't yet have the squeal but it's probably just a matter of time.
TRD Jon has the brake squeal:
and he loves to spend money on modifications and accessories for the benefit of the owner community, but most of them are beyond the budget of many owners.
If someone knows him, maybe you...
I see this air dam coming loose is an official issue now. I removed mine a while ago, but I reinstalled the screws. Might the screws still come loose and drop out just from driving vibration, or do they only come loose due to the force of the air on the air dam? Just wondering if I need to check...
My ORP has the tow tech package with the digital rear view mirror. I guess I haven't gotten used to it yet since I still leave it in regular mirror mode most of the time. I don't like the digital view at low speeds or in stop and go traffic since it's a very zoomed in view for close things...
Anyone else having this issue where the rear tool compartment cover (passenger side on an ORP) won't close on one side? Even with nothing in the compartment it still will pop out on its own on the left side. If you hit the bad fitting side with your palm it will close for an instant but then...
Apparently they inflate all 4 tires and the spare to ~55psi from the factory and dealers don't generally reduce the pressure in their pre-delivery inspections. On the dash display, my spare reads 55psi (door jamb sticker says it should be 33; not sure if it's the same tire as the main tires)...
In Vehicle Settings, there's an item called Stop Lights Display.
I searched for "stop lights display" in the manual and got nothing.
But I found this Tacoma video that shows it really well:
at 12m36s.
It shows 2 red bars on the bottom of the MID when you hit your brakes. That's only really...
Open the Toyota app on your phone (no need to be in your vehicle), click on the person icon in the upper right, then Account, Data Privacy.
Do you see any consent listed as accepted that you either didn't accept, or were not even asked about? Do you see something called "Drive_Pulse" and it is...
Referring to this meter display in the 12.3” screen:
Mine (non-hybrid ORP) has been consistently staying below the midpoint of the display:
I’m not a fan of the non-numeric dash displays and I wondered if I had a battery or charging issue since I’d think they’d design the display of...
I have an ORP with the digital rearview mirror (and I purchased the Dongar Pro cable/dongle kit for Lexus/Toyota), and the process for installing the Dongar adapter on the ORP is a bit different than some of the videos I've seen for other trim levels.
For the ORP (this may only be true if you...
Maybe "wind noise" is too strong a term but with all windows up, and with music off, AC fan on minimum, nobody else in the vehicle, I hear something like a light blowing air noise from the back cabin. Too hard to pinpoint where, other than to say it's behind the driver position; it's kind of a...
What's the final verdict on whether you have to plug or cover any holes (I think the holes are in the lower control arm) to get rid of the whistling noise that some have heard after removing the air dam? It doesn't seem to be resolved in other threads on this topic.
Are there only certain trim...
I haven't yet figured out what I'm going to do with this information, but here's a dimensioned diagram of the space available if you install a cargo bar (the location in the pic was the only practical place with sturdy structure and parallel surfaces) as a "stopper" for keeping things from...
(2025 ORP) My garage is about 20'7"deep but the innermost 4' is a step-up of about 4" (a raised path to walk in front of the cars), so it's really only about 16'7" deep. I have no idea if this is typical, or small for a garage (it's a 1990's house), but a full sized truck definitely won't fit...
