I’ve been on a quest to remove rattles from my 4Runner and naturally the next on the list was the rear spoiler.
It was surprisingly easy to remove with six bolts along the inner edge. 4 are hidden behind the rubber grommets.
Once these are removed it’s as simple as gently lifting up and away...
I have been chasing a rattle that seemed to be coming from the entire rear cargo area at random and I finally thought to look at the rear hatch panel.
If you’re having intermittent clacking and rattling this is the fix.
These highlighted red circles areas are the principle offenders. You’ll...
Diagnosed and pinpointed a rattling sound from my rear seats when the car goes over rough patches of road.
I sound deadened the area with fuzzy Velcro strips cut to size and my rattle disappeared. Could be handy for those who might have the same issue.
This new 6th gen has been the first vehicle I’ve had where the A/C on startup consistently smells like sour armpit when the car is started. I live in SoCal so it’s not like it’s all that moist here either. Not a huge issue, but definitely of note compared to the host of previous vehicles I’ve...
It’s been about a month since Lasfit did a full scan of my cars interior and they just installed all the floor mats.
Fits the third row nicely and allows for it to come up and down without losing coverage. They let me know that second row seat back coverage is also on the way.
Did have a chance to have a PDR guy out today to check out the dent in my hood and assess removal. He did inform me that the hood is made of aluminum which may be useful information to yall here.
no other body panels were aluminum as tested. Exclusively the hood
I’ve noted that my 4Runner lets out a long and loud brake screech when lightly braking in after reversing. Appears to happen after being parked and if you reverse in general, even after driving for quite some time.
The Tundras have a TSB for this same issue so I’m curious if Toyota will have...
I have the SR5 variant of the 2025 4Runner. I recently purchased a Carista Evo dongle since I had previously used a similar dongle in the past to modify my 5th gen 4Runner. Figured that I'd check out what options are available in and I found out a bunch of different options that are toggleable...
I had the opportunity early on to work with Katzkin in California to fully reupholster my 4Runner SR5 with their XT line of leather seat covers.
All three rows have been fully reupholstered and the front two seats have heating and ventilation added in with their Degreez system.
Attaching some...
Just in case you guys were buying accessories for your 2025 4Runner assuming that the 2024 Tacoma interior accessories are compatible, the front Cup Holder area is actually significantly smaller in the 4Runner than the Tacoma.
Currently working with Lasfit right now to get my cars interior scanned to make floor mats available for everyone. They also did a check of all interior and exterior lights and found that the SR5 only has two lonely halogens in the entire vehicle.
Turn signals!
They had the option between...
New Notes:
Dongar sent me a brand new Dongar Pro adapter which has resolved both the vehicle wake issues and the high pitch whine. No wiring changes were made and the only change was plugging in the new unit.
Original Content:
I just installed my old Viofo A119 V3 into my 4Runner using the new...
Anyone know the secret to removing this pod in the ceiling so I can install a dash cam? I’ve checked how it’s supposed to be removed on the 2024 Tacoma, quite literally just pulling with two hands from the front and it flat out doesn’t work here.
I’ve been pulling on this with various tools...
I am currently working on a project and had to take all of my seats out of my car. Sharing some pics of what the interior looks like with no seats as well as some goodies I found.
My car will be disassembled like this for the next 10 or so days so suggest mods or things I should check out inside!
In case you were bummed out like I was with the SR5 not coming with a wireless charger but with wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, its super easy to add it in for 25 bucks and 2 minutes of your time. Best part about this one is that its super slim, doesn't need a car plug adapter since its natively...
