I think is another thread about the brake squeal issue with some of the 6th Gen. I haven't encountered the brake squeal issue...(knock on wood). If I recall correctly, Toyota has issued a service bulletin (TSB). You can probably get the dealer to repair the problem. Here's the link to the...
Absolutely no regrets with my 6th Gen hybrid. It's my first 4Runner I ever owned and love it! I have always liked the exterior styling of the 4Runners through the years and its generations. I recall the first time I had the opportunity to drive a 4Runner was when a dealership loaned a base...
I'm not against moonroofs / sunroofs, just not a fan of panoramic roofs on vehicles intended for frequent off-roading and rock crawling. In fact, it's a deal breaker for me if a vehicle doesn't have a moonroof. I have a moonroof on my 6Gen 4Runner. I love the light it lets into the interior...
I haven't seen a lot of Rivians and Wagoneers with panoramic roofs rock crawling and doing extreme off-roading yet. Also, not everyone posts their car issues online. Most I've seen are ones driven by soccer moms and soccer dads on regular streets and highways that are shiny and spotless.
I know that Toyota doesn't offer panoramic roofs for 4Runners. It's a good thing they don't offer it. The issue with panoramic roofs encountering high body torsion (i.e., off-roading) isn't so much with the roof itself. The issue or weak points will be the glass and also its interface (i.e...
Having a panoramic sunroof doesn't make any sense and doesn't belong on a true off-road SUV because of the large span. The twisting and stresses on the frame and body when off-roading will eventually create issues with a panoramic roof and the glass. Panoramic sunroof should only be on...
A moonroof / sunroof is a must for me when buying a vehicle. I use it every chance I have in nice weather. I turn off the a/c, open the moonroof, and the windows when I'm driving. I had it on my previous vehicles and have it on 6Gen Limited Hybrid.
@Archer You have a great post on where the hybrid battery filter is located and how to replace it. Just reposting the link to your original post for others to reference in case they haven't seen it...
Only about 800+ miles on my 6Gen. So far, haven't heard any brake squeal. But I'll keep my ears tuned in for it and keep TSB-0006-26 in mind if it does occur.
Toyota part number 90430-12031 has always been the blue crush washers when I purchase it. This is the first time hearing about people getting something different. I'm wondering if there is some kind of supply chain issue, so maybe some dealers are substituting the 90430-12031 crush washers...
The typical bluish crush washers that I usually purchase from my local Toyota dealership parts department is what I use.
Did you order online from Amazon or a third-party Web site or did you buy from your local Toyota dealership parts department and were given those rubber ones? I'd be...
@mcd_ovrlnd The terminal located inside the fuse box in the front engine bay -- that is connected to the positive terminal of the 12v starter battery in the rear cargo compartment -- is the other option for power source for the 41.22 kill switch control box. I had considered it before leaning...
