So I reached out to Trail Grid about this kit and they actually recommend installing the Beat Sonic amp to allow the Alpine speakers to reach their full potential.
TRD Off road should have the softest ride aside from the Pro or Trail Hunter, having off road tuned dampers and spring rates. The limited and Platinum are designed more for on road driving so they are tuned to have less body roll and more stability which leads to a slightly firmer ride.
Going to have to watch this video when I get off work. Makes me wonder where all the speakers are, and which of the 14 they are not replacing. Also curious as to how much this would improve audio quality for JBL systems that already had the Beat Sonic amp installed.
I don't know about Toyotas, but I know other manufacturers used colored dots to identify spring rates. Different trims or model years could have different spring rates, so they color code them to identify them in assembly.
I know you are asking about US dealers, but thought I would share my experience in Canada. I had to apply for a credit application through the dealer to reserve my order, but, having talked to them, that is just to show I have the credit to buy the vehicle. Once the vehicle arrives, I can still...
Except I have the mileage set to 15000KM on the Porsche and currently set for 12000 on the 4Runner(estimated mileage). I drive it all the time. Only thing it doesn't see is winter(Currently have a civic as a winter beater until I take delivery of the 4Runner).
Also, I can see them dropping you...
There should be plenty of clearance even with the rear seats reclined as far back as they go. They sit pretty tight against the pillars and glass leaving quite a few inches of space on the sides. You'd probably smack your head off the B pillar before making contact with the molle panel.
Typically if the dealer is offering install of any aftermarket accessories, they would have their own warranty coverage through the dealer themselves/that 3rd party company. As there isn't any electronics in the seats or anything to interfere with the heating element, no factory warranty should...
My main concern is that, even with a slight gain(which is needed because the sound system is not the greatest stock), if its generating more heat than what the speakers can handle it can still cause issues long term. Unfortunately parts are made cheaper so even with a slight increase, if its...
Huh, interesting to here from another insurance broker, but some of those things seem like it must be different for each insurance company, because when going through my policy they said the things I listed directly affect the policy price but value not so much unless you are getting...
While I see the benefits of adding an amp, my biggest concern would be longevity. Getting extra clarity and bass means increasing power going to the speakers. That creates extra heat which if the stock speakers can't dissipate it then long term, it will eventually cook them.
Insurance isn't based off vehicle value. It is based off of safety ratings, how many are on the road, how many are stolen and how many accidents they are involved in. Camrys are amongst one of the top stolen vehicles in the US. And while 4Runners are also stolen a fair bit, they aren't stolen as...
Completely normal. The direct injectors sit right on top of the motor, and do not have anything covering them so they tend to be noisy. It sounding like a diesel is 100% because of this. Its nothing to worry about and isn't noticeable unless driving really slow with the windows down or up...
I haven't experienced this myself in a 4Runner yet, but I have noticed this driving a Tundra and Tacoma. To me it almost feels like a torque converter lock up issue. The way it vibrates does not feel like a rim or tire issue. Its a very particular pulsation that doesn't always happen but when it...
Converting our bulk oil price to USD from CAD its only about $40-45 for 5 quarts of oil. Bottled oil is almost double. Dealer oils will always cost more than your name brand shelf bought oils(unless you buy higher end racing oils, specialty oils etc).
While it is the wrong oil and they should definitely be going back for a refund and for it to be corrected, it may not necessarily be the incorrect prices. 0w8 oil is a fair bit more expensive than 0w20. And with all the skid plates, labor can be more to change the oil. For example, my parts...
Yea theres actually a lot different with how the packages are done, and even what accessories are available. Some things that are options for you, we get standard, and others we just don't get at all. Like we don't even get the Sport premium package, and the sunroof is standard on the premium...
I have had the Tux mats for about 4-5 years now in my Civic. They hold up great. No warping or deforming like my old Weathertech mats did after a while. They also come with clips to secure them in place around the edges as an added level of protection against lifting or warping but I opted not...
