Did you do a gear change with with tire size increase. Is the 6th gen diff gearing still 3.83 like of the 5th gen? My understanding on those was moving to a 35" pretty much required moving to a a 4.54 or a 4.88gearing?
Nice build. Just curious though if you've looked into changing the gears in the differential. I'm not sure on the 6th gen but my understanding on the 5th get was the diff gearing was 3.83. You could move to "33 inch tires" without to much trouble but to go to 35" you really needed to move up...
So I just took possession of my Trailhunter today. So far love the power delivery vs the old model. However I haven't crawled under the truck yet. Has anyone looked if the rear diff breather valve has the same problem as the previous generations? Specifically on the Gen 5 while the front and...
Thank you very much. It appears that Cali Raised has two websites now. https://caliraisedoffroad.com/ and also https://caliraisedled.com/
They have different presentations and a different layout of products. I was looking at the Cali Raised offroad site. Not sure why a brand would present...
Ok I want to be very careful how I word this because a) my intent is not to disparage anyone and b) my guess is the answer to the question is my own ignorance which I fully embrace
I am by no stretch of the imagination any kind of expert on 4Runner modding. In fact I will place myself firmly...
So the Raptor style front lights aren't really my thing because in reality they a necessary legal requirement of a vehicle over a certain width, kinda like the similar roof mount lights on work trucks; specifically those exceeding 80" in width. That being said super kudos to you for a clean...
Welcome to the world of 4Runners and Android bluetooth connectivity. Sadly this seems like a problem they haven't been able to solve in at least the last 10 years. Its basically like there is a signal break/reset every couple of minutes sometimes with greater ramifications than others. In a...
I've seen the JDM horns on Sticker Fab in both the diverter and non diverter form. Can anyone offer a simple explanation of the difference. it seemed in their attached video clips they only showed the one and sound youtube clips can less than accurate
So haven't heard anything else on this but just an idea that popped in my head and thought I'd ask as I'm currently trying to decide which ditch brackets to go with. The pics look like they are taken with the hood up. Are you running Redline or similar hood struts? My understanding is the...
Thanks very much for the info. I'm looking deeper into that. While I don't have any personal experience with it one of the other anti-theft devices I've looked into in the past is the Revelco
This kinda reminds me of the the turbo timer talk when I had my STi and was in the Subaru WRX game. In almost all modern systems the turbo is cooled by the coolant system. Maybe a few seconds of idle before shut off but there is no need for excessive cool down idling periods. Trust me, I...
So I'm not sure how much this will help since Iechnically I never got around to installing. I purchased the Rago Fab internal rear window panels and then later purchased the shelf for my 5th gen. Again I never got around to installing and now they are for sale as I'm moving to a 6th gen. I...
Nice so far. Can you please go into a little more detail on the VTT OBD lock. This is the first time I've even seen something in this neighborhood and not sure I completely understand.
Cheers
How do you like the Westcott ditch light bracket mounts? I've got a pair of leftover Baja Squadrons in a box that I never got around to using on a previous build. The Westcott brackets seem very low-pro which should help with wind noise but I'm wondering if when aimed down at at an angle the...
Howdy. New owner of a IC Trailhunter in NC. Well almost owner anyway; still waiting on delivery from another dealership. This will be my 4th 4Runner. I had a 2006 4th gen SR5, a 2014 Trail and currently a 2020 TRD ORP. Still somewhat second guessing myself from moving on from the ultra...
