My plant builds the transmission for the non-hybrid Highlander. The transfer case isn't integrated into the transmission at all. The only way you can tell the difference between an AWD and a FWD transaxle is the shape of the differential (to allow the transfer case to mate to it) and the...
Is that image of the larger premium screen? Or the smaller non-premium screen? I'm assuming the larger of the 2.
My '23 GR Corolla doesn't have the double arrow button but my wife's '25 UX300h and my daily '24 bZ4x have the double arrow. The former has a smaller 7", typical aspect ratio...
It is all about where the mechanical fuse is. If the roads are slick enough that the tire can slip against the asphalt -- rather than the stress being pushed back to the transfer case -- you're OK in 4H. Dry parking lot where you are making 90 degree turns? That's going to be bad. Relatively...
Qi charger, extra USB ports, turn signals in mirrors, auto climate control, heated seats, inverter, leather shift knob, full digital instrument cluster, some dressy stuff outside (grille, tails), bigger wheels & tires (31.5"), color matched fenders. I expect some things like interior materials...
The power liftgate should have a way to make the tailgate stop short. When we use the roof box on my wife's Lexus, I manually push the tailgate to the position that allows it to clear the roof box and then hold the teach button. Manual tailgates don't have that ability, unfortunately.
It matches diameter while being ~20mm narrower. It kinda makes sense to me with vehicles equipped with 20" wheels. Probably not going to be intensely offroading those anyway.
If it is, indeed, a supplier capacity problem, it would be a lot harder to find a Land Cruiser if they didn't make it optional... because they wouldn't be building any Land Cruisers except for 1958s.
I expect that once the supply catches up, they'll make it a model year change where they...
SDM is now optional on the Land Cruiser as a mid year change. The base price dropped a bit and SDM was moved from standard to optional. IMO, there's some sort of supply constraint. I did a quick search of Tacomas in the Toyota inventory site and no TRD ORs within 250miles have the optional SDM.
IMO, the TNGA-F platform is a step up over the 150 series from the 5th gen. More tire clearance in general from the wheel well openings, more wheel offset should allow for less rub while stuffed and at full lock. More torque at lower engine speeds should mean better control. While I don't...
That error would have been back at the preferencing stage. Dealer A preferenced the car, filled out the wrong code while preferencing, were awarded the preference, someone found that the dealer code didn't match, data was fixed to match the dealer that did the preferencing. Dealer B, the one...
The inventory website is all automated. Once the vehicle has been allocated to a dealership, it will be shipped to that dealership. The dealership is filled out in the allocation tables -- from the distributor, not the dealership -- and the inventory site pulls from that. There's no...
If it shows up on the Toyota inventory site, it is already allocated to that dealership and the POIs are final. The process discussed above is all before the allocation is set and before anything shows up on the inventory site.
Basically, if you are dead set on certain POIs, color, trims, etc...
5th gen doesn't have a flat floor either, unless you opt for the sliding cargo deck. My 2 row '10 and '16 had a small ramp up to the seatback.
For camping, I'd be really tempted to remove the 60 side of the 40:60 split entirely. I considered doing that on my 5th gen because at 5'8", the...
Other countries have different emissions and federalization requirements. It costs considerable money to add different engine options for the US market (emissions, crash testing, etc).
They absolutely would not sell 3x more. Some number of buyers that are currently buying the hybrid would...
It does matter because if it isn’t making full boost, it can’t make full power. They do it to save people from damaging the engine. I expect that the GX will do the same thing if you mash it while the engine is cold. High combustion pressure + below temp metal bits = short life.
Was the vehicle warmed up? Toyota doesn’t give you full boost until it is warmed up. My GR Corolla is limited to like 8lbs of boost until the oil temp is up to around 150°.
3. love this.
5. ha, this was such a big deal when the 5th gen was released. People losing their minds about losing the lockable gas door. I prefer manual door like you.
6. is this for people that press both the gas and accelerator at the same time?
14. wouldn't count on that... a lower...
