toyota went the cheap route to save some money since 70-80% of the buyers will never not be a pavement princess.
personally i will never see un-paved roads or un-maintained dirt roads to go fishing.
since toyota got rid of the bump stops and went with a shock top tower incorporated bump stop...
well the MY24 4R limited wheel with oem tire was around 85lbs
to shed weight go with smaller 18's and or aftermarket
just dont screw it up with mounting load E tires which will just add the weight you saved on the wheels back on.
go with either SL or C load tires
well in ND 12v batteries dont usually last over 5-10 yrs. the cold kills them.
ive replaced at least 3 times on my 12 yrs 2014 4R and its sits in a unheated garage at least.
the brutal cold snaps just kill them trying to crank in -20F or -30F temps outside at work.
typical toyota transmission check requires a cold engine, the bring it up to a specific check temp, then pull the either the drain or fill cap and see if its level with the hole.
just have to find the correct procedures for you model (4R, taco, tree, tundra, etc)
oh yeah now you can sound like a ricer boi in your "vtec just kicked in" voice :ROFLMAO:
love the concept but the sound at my age i have come to hate now for some odd reason.
give me a merica' sounding old school v8 :)
they hybrid will 95% of the time never fully charge or discharge if you follow the 20-80 rule of batteries
this is a wild speculation ...
also the gauge is misleading. 0-100% = 20-80% of the actual battery charge (if you follow recommended charge state of the metal hydride battery for normal...
if i remember correctly,
the account image is what is used on the main screen under your profile load.
so no matter the profile, all of them load with the toyota account image as edited in the toyota app or the toyota owners website.
for us i loaded the wife's tundra as the account image...
not sure how that would work since the rain sensing wiper use the forward facing camera to detect the rain drop density to sweep the wipers.
it would be a complete software/firmware change/flashing to enable it
and i am sure no dealer tech is going to just completely change your oem...
i never go by the onboard vehicle mpg reading.
i use the fuelly app (acar) to record every fill up since gods know when.
then fuelly bought them out. so it was an easy transition to keep it locally (on the phone) and it syncs to fuelly after any changes to the phone app
i've been keeping...
that would be cool to have the 2.8 diesel, but then again, and trust me, with all the usa regs on diesel emissions, you wouldnt want that engine in the usa.
per the manual (which most dont read) in an emergency, press the fob directly on the PTS button if you have a weak or dead fob battery
or better yet, push the PTS button with the fob :)
dont wait for or watch for the flashes, it will screw up your timing.
press lock button consistently fast (.5 to 1 sec between pushes 1 & 2 and hold on 3)
if you are timing the lock button presses to the lights, you wont remote start the vehicle most of the time.
also i have notice in cold starts (below freezing) in ND, when i leave the garage the hybrid battery meter jumps around a lot during the first 30 seconds then goes back to being not used.
also if you put it into manual shift mode (+/-), it turns off auto start stop
thats good right now vs me. i dropped from 19.x to 16.1 in a span of 1 tank.
cold and remote starts eat into the mpg really hard in ND, but then again, if you live in ND winters, you shouldn't care about mpg in the winter time.
2018 tundra hit 4.492 mpg a tank
2023 tundra hit 6.913 mpg a tank...
